Chewy Butterscotch Bars

Tonight I am headed out to my friend Cherayne’s apartment to enjoy dinner with some of my girlfriends. Cherayne is making black bean burgers (yum!) and we’re all bringing a little somethin’ somethin’ to enjoy as well.

With my sweet tooth, it should come as no surprise that I’m bringing a dessert… that is if there’s any left by the time I head out of the house!

When I arrived home from work, I whipped up a batch of chewy butterscotch bars and they turned out oh-so-moist, sweet and tasty!

drooooool. Now this is something that would disappear before it made it past the batter stage, if I were making them. ;)

  27. kate says:

those look UNREAL! Have you ever subbed unsweetened applesauce for half the butter? I know it’s not going to make a world of difference on those caloric bombshells (which i’m sure are amazing) but since i want to run home to whip up a batch (and then scarf the entire thing) I was just wondering if you had any healthy substitutions…

    Julie-
When I saw these I HAD to make them. The kiddos and I made them tonight and WOW they are amazing!! I’m ashamed to say me, a 5 year old and a 3 year old polished off one and a half rows. I’ll let you guess who ate the most :-)

    Thanks for the great recipe!
