The Travel List Challenge

Good afternoon!

I hope your day is going simply swimmingly! I feel much more “with it” today. For whatever reason, yesterday felt rather hazy, so it’s nice to feel like my old self again!

After working through the morning, lunchtime was a welcome break and I took a few minutes to throw together a protein-packed lunch that included fresh fruit and vegetables.

lunch chicken salad with apple and yogurt

A winner all around.

Along with a cup of strawberry banana Greek yogurt and a Jazz apple, I made myself a batch of chicken salad.

In addition to the usual three ingredients that always go into my typical chicken salad (Miracle Whip, mustard and relish), I added shopped celery and two chopped carrot sticks.

I loved the extra crunch from the vegetables!

Delightful!

Questions of the Afternoon

  • Of the locations listed above that you haven’t been to, where would you most like to visit?
  • What place was left off the above list that you think should be included?

I would love to see the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and go scuba diving!

Comments

  1. I’m quite impressed that I’ve been to 26 considering I’m not from the US and most of these locations are in the US!
Would love love love to go to Machu Picchu or some of the more exotic locations :D

  2. Lea says:

I’ve only been to 4 of the places on that list, that’s so sad! The only reason I even made it to 4 is because 3 or the locations are in DC. I need to get out more!
I would love to go to Europe but a lack of funds and a huge fear of flying are standing in the way for the time being. One day though!

  3. Oh my gosh, go to the Great Barrier Reef the first chance you get. After scuba diving there, the only description I can think of for people is that it is one of the few places I’ve visited that wasn’t even CLOSE to over-hyped! It was more incredible and awe-inspiring than I ever thought it would be! :)

  4. Jay says:

Hi Peanut Butter, Unfortunately, unless you are a Muslim, you won’t be able to visit Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Non-Muslims are NOT allowed anywhere near it. In fact just getting a visitors visa to enter Saudi is not that easy either. I only know this because I work here (Saudi Arabia). Love your list !

  5. Heather says:

    what a list!!!
i’d love to visit jerusalem and the great wall of china

  6. Love this list! Did it on facebook awhile back. Been to 42 of the places, mostly during my mid 20′s (that’s what they’re for right? traveling!) :-) my faves? Cinque Terre Italy, Macchu Pichu, Kili (if you ever can, hike up Mt Kilimanjaro!), Puerta del Sol, and Zion Natl Park in the U.S. :-)

  7. Pam says:

You didn’t get to see Big Ben when you were in London??!!??!!

  8. Emily says:

I’m so happy New Zealand made the list but I question whether glow worm caves can be considered our best asset?! We’ve got more than just worms I promise!

  9. I’m really surprised by some of the UK ones that have been included! The white cliffs of Dover? REALLY? There also seem to be tons in the USA but hardly any from Africa and South America. I thought I was pretty well travelled but I haven’t been to most of those places! time to get planning my next trip!

  10. Prepel says:

Old Town Dubrovnik, Croatia and the geysers in Iceland should be on this list!

  11. Erin says:

    68. Portland Head Lighthouse
    Cape Elizabeth, Maine, USA

That’s where I’m from! (Portland, ME) If you’ve never been to the Maine coast, it’s so beautiful. Everyone needs to go at some point in their life. And have some lobstah! :-)

  12. Chelsea says:

what kind chicken do you use for your chicken salad?

  13. Kattrina says:

I’ve been to 26 of the places – not too bad. There are MANY that I still want to go to and places I’d see again (I counted the pyramids in Egypt but I went was I was 3 months old, so I obviously don’t remember much). I think right now I’d love to hike part of the Grand Canyon. I’ve always wanted to make it out there but have only gotten to Las Vegas. I’ve also always dreamed of running the marathon they have on the Great Wall of China. My favorite place I’ve been to on the list is Pompeii – so interesting.

  14. Gen says:

    Whouah you’ve travaled a lot!

  15. Carissa says:

Making my own version now!!! Fun!

  16. Katie says:

Just visited number 30 on Tuesday for a school trip! We even reennacted Pickett’s Charge– the boys had swords and everything! :D

  17. I would absolutely LOVE to see the Great Barrier Reef and Iguazu Falls! I haven’t traveled out of the country since early 2009, and I’m definitely getting the travel itch!
