Cyber Monday Savings

Good afternoon!

Have any of you guys taken advantage of Cyber Monday savings today? I bought Ryan one little stocking stuffer and got free shipping. Not exactly the kind of savings you write home about, but I’ll take it!

Fun fact: Shoppers are expected to spend more than $1.5 billion dollars today. Yeesh.

I spent my morning catching up on work before taking a break to eat lunch and browse the internet for Cyber Monday deals.

chicken salad with corn and avocado

Today’s lunchtime salad included:

  • Spring mix
  • 1 ear raw sweet corn
  • 1/2 avocado
  • Shredded carrot
  • Leftover chicken
  • Bolthouse Farms yogurt Caesar dressing

My goodness this was a good salad! The avocado and corn stole the show.

Question of the Afternoon

  • Do you take advantage of sales on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
  • Did you find any good deals today? Please share!

I’ve done the whole Black Friday shopping thing a few times but prefer to look for good deals from the comfort of my own home on Cyber Monday. Less lines and less craziness!

Nothing on Friday and today a tee shirt for Jim from lol shirts a grand total of $6.99 – I did NOT help the economy today 🙁 but

    2. I’m sick today

I bought my boyfriend a “nap sack” from Poler Stuff. It’s a wearable sleeping bag that has holes for your feet and arms… So very random, but it looks even more comfy then a snuggie. He’s been hinting at it for a while – I’m stoked they had a sale!

I got a whopping 65% off on a pair of skis for the hubs, and free shipping! I say that’s a steal! And thanks to Kiran’s comment above, I’m heading over to Kate Spade’s site hah!

This year was the first time I’ve ever gone Black Friday shopping–I don’t want to brave the craziness, and I love sleep way too much. I went out around dinnertime though, and found three pairs of really nice jeans from American Eagle for $50 total! Which, coming from a poor college student who gets the majority of her wardrobe from thrift store finds, that’s saying something. Oh, and on JCrew factory, they also have 50% off storewide, which is pretty impressive…although I guess they start out about 50% overpriced as it is, so take that with a grain of salt haha.

Ha well now I need to go to the Kate Spade website. Haha. Im like you in that I prefer shopping from my home and not having to worry about getting trampled in a parking lot. 🙂

I did my first Cyber Monday shopping today! I got a decent discount on an Etsy present for my sister, which inspired me to find something on Etsy for my mom as well. The second item wasn’t discounted, but I probably wouldn’t have been online shopping in the first place if it hadn’t been for Cyber Monday. (I also definitely bought myself a pair of shoes at a different website earlier today…oops).

I got a new 6 QT Crock Pot (From the Crock Pot Web Site) for 1/2 price! Regular $70 for $35! I use my slow cookers (this will be #3) SEVERAL times every week!

I did some shopping at bloomies yesterday and that’s about it. Today I was searching high and low online for an evening gown to wear to a gala and new years. None of the ones that I liked were on sale… figures!!

I bought my grandparents some personalized picture mugs of Shutterfly. I thought it was funny I got a better deal from the “Thanksgiving Weekend Sale” than they had on cyber monday! Glad I bought last night instead of this morning! This is the first year I’ve actually bought a lot of presents online, which is kinda of strange. I kind of like the hustle and bustle of malls this time of year 🙂

I had no time to online shop today boo 🙁 So sad. I also haven’t really thought too much about what I want to buy all my family, etc. so I don’t think I would’ve been able to take advantage too much. I did a little bit of Black Friday shopping, but nothing crazy. Much, much more to come!

I’m a little disappointed with the Cyber Monday deals this year! Nothing too exciting…but I know of a deal that is near and dear to my heart, so excuse this shameless little advert.

My sister’s nonprofit, Athena’s Warehouse, is selling these cute t-shirts, and for Cyber Monday, the shirts are $5 and an additional $5 will be donated from The Sales Management Association for every shirt sold. They’re really cute and soft Alternative Apparel shirts with an owl screenprint. You should check it out and spread the word if you like the shirts 🙂

I got an awesome pair of leather boots that I’ve had my eye on from DSW. I already thought they were a good price and then on top of that they gave 30 off w/ free shipping. I’m sold. The only bad thing is that now I want to buy some new outfits to go with my new boots!! So much for saving 🙂

I bought some of my favorite protein powder from bodybuilding.com for 20% off (nothing huge, but it was much cheaper than usual!). Other than that, I honestly didn’t see too much I was interested in either. JCrew Factory had a 50% off sale, but the sweater I’d been eying sold out! Oh well. I ended up getting like 75% of my Christmas shopping done between Black Friday and today anyway, which is still a score in my book.

I shopped on Friday and Saturday–not during the crazy early hours, just during the day, and found quite a few Christmas presents for good deals!
I just got home from work now so I’m starting to shop around online, but I’m not seeing anything too impressive. I like shopping better anyway 🙂

Although I was tempted I did not buy anything today. It is so hard to stay away from the Victoria secret website 🙂 I did have bolthouse farms chunky blue cheese dressing on my salad today and it is amazing!! I can’t believe how much flavor they pack in to only 35 cals per serving! I can’t wait to try the Caesar and ranch flavors

Today was the first chance I had to do any shopping really since I had to work all weekend but The Loft had everything 50% off on their website, and I definitely took advantage! I’m getting close to finishing my PhD and could really use some “adult-esque” clothing since I need to start looking for a job!!! Yikes!

I got a Kate Spade tote at a great price too! I almost splurged on a Tory burch bag (20% off any order over $300 w code giftforyou) but couldn’t justify the price even w the coupon. Also eye candied some Henri Bendel bags (30% off everything code cyber12). I actually really loved a few Talbot skirts online (50% off first full priced item, no minimum) but there were super slim pickings w sizes. I prefer Internet shopping over in store!

My brother in law bought my mom an iPad2 16GB for $429 after tax and shipping. Pretty good deal. She won’t use one with lots of GB and I am going to split the cost with him. Expensive gift but she would never buy herself one. I also bought my husband and I some Egyptian sheet set for 26 dollars. I also bought some small gifts. I really like online shopping and staying at home!

I worked a 12 hour shift at our local mall this year from 11 pm on Thursday until 10 am Friday morning. It was my first experience with black Friday and it was awful. People are like animals and I will boycott Black Friday from now on. It starts earlier and earlier every year and people are losing site of what the holidays are actually about.

I know some people who LIVE for Black Friday, but I just can’t do it. I think I’d get way too overwhelmed with the crowds and the “rush” of the whole thing. I’d end up hiding in a clothes rack like Rachel in that Friends episode when they’re trying to find Monica a wedding dress.

I had to work Black Friday 11 pm-11 am! People were crazy. Once I’m done working retail, I don’t think I’ll ever shop Black Friday. It’s just not worth it, and it’s not fair to the retail workers who don’t get to spend Thanksgiving with their family.

Howdy this is kind of of off topic but I was wanting to
know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
