DecemBURRR Circuit Workout

This weekend kicks off Christmas fun for the Fagan family. We’re celebrating Christmas with Ryan’s side of the family in Sarasota this weekend and I’m ready to get the festivities goin’. We will be spending the following weekend in Jacksonville with my family, so we’ll be having an extended Christmas this year.

Since my parents moved to Jacksonville this year, this is the first time Ryan and I won’t be able to see both of our families on Christmas Day, but I think the arrangements we’ve made are pretty good! It should be a fun weekend! I know Sadie Claus is pumped to wear her festive little outfit this weekend.

Ocala got hit with a bit of cold weather yesterday! Texts went flying between me and my mom as we started wishing for a chilly Christmas. The Illinois-child within me still craves cold weather during the holidays. I’m afraid my desire to be bundled up at Christmastime will never truly fade away. Our first Florida Christmas was a rude awakening, but I’ve adjusted to seeing palm trees twinkling with Christmas lights.

Now I just suck it up and sit in my flannel pajamas with a mug of hot chocolate and sweat. It’s all gravy.

Though hot cocoa and flannel pajamas didn’t make an appearance at the gym this morning, sweat certainly did!

I forgot to bring my print out of the final circuit workout from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp with me, so I ended up creating my own mini circuit workout that I did three times following a quick 20-minute cardio session on the elliptical.

Oh adorable winter graphics, you are so much fun!

Breakfast this morning was a bit odd. I started by making myself a bowl of steel cut oats with egg whites, flax seed, nutmeg and pumpkin pie spice, but after a few bites, I realized I wasn’t in the mood for that breakfast at all.

I still ate a small bowl of the oats, but paired them with some cheesy eggs since my taste buds wanted cheese this morning.

Whatever works!

It’s getting Chilly in Nova Scotia, no snow but hopefully soon 🙂
Workout looks awesome, I will be using it tomorrow morning!

Quick question, where is your carry on/gym duffle bag from, the snazzy print one, I remember you having a giveaway a while back and I loved the bags, looking for last minute Christmas present!

Target! I just checked the website and I can no longer find it online. 🙁 It is made by Sonia Kashuk!

You can take some of the cold weather that we are having today! There was a thick layer of frost that I had to scrape off my car this morning. Part of me loves the cold and then another part of me could use a break from the cold. 🙂

Completly relate to your sitting in pjs drinking hot chocolate and sweating….it’s the same here in Texas too! Although we did get a little cold snap this week but it’s not lasting long.

ahahaha!…I’m in Tampa and the other day, my cousin and I got together to do some holiday baking and do a christmas project from pinterest! I came over with 2 hot cups of Starbucks to start out our day, even though it was disgustingly muggy and warm out. Then when we headed outside to start our project the sweat started dripping! We tried SO hard to make the day feel Christmas-y, but good gracious Florida doesn’t quite get the memo!

Thankfully today is so nice and cool out….time for a jog!

    Have a great Friday PBF!

What’s funny is that I am in the Chicago area and wish I was in Florida! Have you heard that we haven’t had any snow yet. I’m hoping to break many records of no snow this year….ok, maybe one little snow, but that’s all!

By the way, I found some awesome tickets to a Cirque de Soleil show in my Mother-in-Laws town. Can’t thank you enough for that suggestion. I think she’ll be thrilled!

That looks like a great workout! I have a quick question, what program do you use to make the graphics for the workout? I have to do a similar thing for a blog I am going to be writing for but have no idea what programs to use! Thanks Julie!

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas this year after four HOT Australian ones! Although come the second week of January, I am confident I will be keen to swap the cold winter with a mild one in Florida:)

I’m on a cheesy egg kick breakfast myself right now. Light Tex-Mex cheese is my current fave.

    Have a wonderful, festive weekend!

For what it’s worth, it’s only cold here in Illinois…no snow in sight 🙁 Honestly, with how stupid and ugly this weather is, I’d rather have Florida warmth than dead, disgusting, cold-without-snow stupidness that we have up here right now >:( (bitter much? Oh, you bet. Haha).

Julie, I live in Indiana and it is about 34′ today which I think is warm for this time of the year. It is not near as cold as I want it to be and there is absolutely NO snow on the ground. I am wishing for snow this Christmas but the past few years we haven’t had very much or any at all. I was just thinking today that I am so thankful that when I was little that it snowed a lot in the winter so I was able to play outside and enjoy all of the fun in the snow!

My dog is named Sadie, too and we also call her Sadie Claus! It is the funniest thing because she LOVE her Santa Claus toys/babies. She brings them out year-round out of her toy box (yes, she has a million toys), but they especially make a lot of appearances around this time of year. It’s as if she knows it is Santa time! 😉

When you visit your family in Jax, you should try out Pure Barre Jax Beach 🙂 Also, you should be sure to eat at the new Tacolu. Enjoy your holidays and travel safely!

I love your winter graphics and how you can think of a stellar workout off the top of your head! I always have to have a handy workout card with me if I want to get anything done. Have fun this weekend with Ryan’s family!

haha all I’ve ever been used to is sunny, half-chilly weather because I grew up in the capital of Argentina where it’s summer during Christmas, and now in socal, so not much of a difference there! lol. But when I was in the midwest a few years ago, I so enjoyed the cold and snowy weather! So awesome.

The same thing happened to me today- I woke up extra early to cram in more studying for a final today but my stomach was not interested in breakfast. I still ate something, but of course an hour into my final my tummy started grumbling.

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve been reading your blog for about a month now and I love it!! It is the first blog that I’ve actually kept up with. Your enthusiasm, awesome workouts, adorable clothes, and funny posts are perfect to keep this college girl interested! Keep up the great posts Julie!

It’s funny that you always want what you don’t have. Living up north, I always crave a warmer winter. Let’s switch places this year! We could do a house exchange, like The Holiday! 🙂

  18. says

Have a great time getting the Christmas celebrations started! I would miss the chilly weather this time of year too if I weren’t up north, but then again, piling on a winter jacket, gloves, scarf, and hat isn’t really all that fun. Enjoy the sunshine!

I live in Jacksonville Beach and it is chilly right now! I’ve been running in pants and a jacket so hopefully it stays like this so we can enjoy a cold Christmas! 🙂 While you’re here, you and your family should visit Marker 32 – it is a delicious seafood restaurant. And you should take Sadie to Dogwood – my Vizsla loves that dog park. There is a big lake that dogs can swim in and trails they can run through.

Noooo! Don’t wish for chilly weather! Haha… My husband and I are leaving cold, cold Alberta tomorrow to spend the holidays in Florida with my in-laws! Although, I’m pretty sure what is cold for people in Florida will be nice and warm for us! 😉

I’m a new reader to your blog and just wanted to say I think you’re doing a GREAT job! I also am a huuuge fan of Peanut Butter. I’m not sure if you’ve ever checked any out by Peanut Butter Co. but I recommend the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl 🙂

    Happy Holidays!

Ha! I used pic monkey to make a winter workout graphic too 🙂 Mine was called winter warm up and was about getting that heart rate up and heat going in the mornings. I’ll give yours a try too! Those winter graphics really are so fun – I also loved all the halloween ones

I would love to hear more about your favorite “just us” Christmas Traditions with Ryan. It’s my first Christmas with my husband where we won’t have family around, and we don’t have kids yet…..

This holiday circut reminds me of the Christmas workout the instructor at my bootcamp class made up this week. It’s actually called the 12 days of Christmas. day 1- 10 squats, 2- 10 jump lunges, 3- 10 pushups, 4- 25 jumping jacks, 5- 20 skaters, 6- 30 sec. squat hold, 7- 20 hammer curls, 8- 20 second running man, 9- 30 sec side step (recovery), 10- 20 uppercuts with weights, 11- 10 burpees!, and finally 12- 10 tuck jumps. You do it just like the song, so start with day 1, then day 2 and 1, then day 3 and 2 and 1, etc. It takes about 40 minutes depending on how many breaks you take but it seriously kicked my butt and I wanted to share with you!
