This weekend kicks off Christmas fun for the Fagan family. We’re celebrating Christmas with Ryan’s side of the family in Sarasota this weekend and I’m ready to get the festivities goin’. We will be spending the following weekend in Jacksonville with my family, so we’ll be having an extended Christmas this year.

Since my parents moved to Jacksonville this year, this is the first time Ryan and I won’t be able to see both of our families on Christmas Day, but I think the arrangements we’ve made are pretty good! It should be a fun weekend! I know Sadie Claus is pumped to wear her festive little outfit this weekend.

Ocala got hit with a bit of cold weather yesterday! Texts went flying between me and my mom as we started wishing for a chilly Christmas. The Illinois-child within me still craves cold weather during the holidays. I’m afraid my desire to be bundled up at Christmastime will never truly fade away. Our first Florida Christmas was a rude awakening, but I’ve adjusted to seeing palm trees twinkling with Christmas lights.

Now I just suck it up and sit in my flannel pajamas with a mug of hot chocolate and sweat. It’s all gravy.

Though hot cocoa and flannel pajamas didn’t make an appearance at the gym this morning, sweat certainly did!

I forgot to bring my print out of the final circuit workout from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp with me, so I ended up creating my own mini circuit workout that I did three times following a quick 20-minute cardio session on the elliptical.

Oh adorable winter graphics, you are so much fun!

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was a bit odd. I started by making myself a bowl of steel cut oats with egg whites, flax seed, nutmeg and pumpkin pie spice, but after a few bites, I realized I wasn’t in the mood for that breakfast at all.

I still ate a small bowl of the oats, but paired them with some cheesy eggs since my taste buds wanted cheese this morning.

    Julie,

I’m a new reader to your blog and just wanted to say I think you’re doing a GREAT job! I also am a huuuge fan of Peanut Butter. I’m not sure if you’ve ever checked any out by Peanut Butter Co. but I recommend the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl :)

    Happy Holidays!

    Love,
    A New Reader named Natasha

Ha! I used pic monkey to make a winter workout graphic too :) Mine was called winter warm up and was about getting that heart rate up and heat going in the mornings. I’ll give yours a try too! Those winter graphics really are so fun – I also loved all the halloween ones

I would love to hear more about your favorite “just us” Christmas Traditions with Ryan. It’s my first Christmas with my husband where we won’t have family around, and we don’t have kids yet…..

This holiday circut reminds me of the Christmas workout the instructor at my bootcamp class made up this week. It’s actually called the 12 days of Christmas. day 1- 10 squats, 2- 10 jump lunges, 3- 10 pushups, 4- 25 jumping jacks, 5- 20 skaters, 6- 30 sec. squat hold, 7- 20 hammer curls, 8- 20 second running man, 9- 30 sec side step (recovery), 10- 20 uppercuts with weights, 11- 10 burpees!, and finally 12- 10 tuck jumps. You do it just like the song, so start with day 1, then day 2 and 1, then day 3 and 2 and 1, etc. It takes about 40 minutes depending on how many breaks you take but it seriously kicked my butt and I wanted to share with you!
