Early Morning Montebello Workout
On my fourth and final day in Quebec, I set my alarm for an early morning outdoor workout with Anne.
We walked outside toward the nearby lake just as the sun was rising. The reflection off the misty lake blew me away. It was the best way to kick off the final day of our trip!
Anne and I ran along a two-mile path that circled the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello hotel before setting up camp right by a gazebo along the lake to complete a quick and sweaty interval workout. I set up my phone to play my High Energy Workout Playlist which motivated us through the fast-paced circuit.
Our workout included three rounds of the following:
- 20 burpees
- 5 push ups
- 20 sit ups
- 5 push ups
- 20 walking lunges
- 20 pulsing squats
- 20 jump squats
After a much-needed shower and a quick buffet breakfast at the hotel, our group said goodbye to the beautiful Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello and headed out for our first adventure of the day.
Parc Omega
We arrived at Parc Omega a little after 9 a.m.
Parc Omega is a 2,220 acre park where visitors can drive around to see lots of animals from the comfort of their car. Our group boarded a school bus to check out the park!
While our driver told us fun facts about the park and the animals within it, we snapped lots of pictures and fed some of the animals carrots!
Parc Omega is home to a wide variety of animals including moose, elk, wolves, black bears, bison and more. Many roam freely within the park and can enjoy carrots from visitors, but the bison, wolves, coyotes and bears live in their ownlarge enclosures and cannot be fed.
The little red fox may have been my favorite animal that we saw within the park. His mannerisms reminded me a lot of Sadie. Such a cutie!
Toward the end of our time at the park, we were able to get off the bus and feed the deer which was such a neat experience.
They absolutely love carrots!
At one point we all cracked up when we looked over and one of the baby deer was halfway inside our bus scavenging for more carrots!
Busted!
Parc Omega was such a fun experience and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to see the beautiful animals within the park during our time in Quebec!
Lunch at ChocoMotive
Before it was time to head to the airport, our group stopped at ChocoMotive, a chocolaterie and café, for lunch and some sweet treats.
I ordered a veggie burger with quinoa salad and two cappuccinos topped with chocolate shavings (more for the warmth than for the coffee).
Everything was delicious!
Following lunch, our group sampled a handful of the homemade artisan chocolates and they were incredible.
The hazelnut truffle stole the show!
It was the perfect ending to such a wonderful time in the Outaouais region of Canada. Thank you again to Tourism Outaouais and Tourisme Quebec and our fabulous press trip leaders, Anne and Marouan, for such an incredible trip! I had a fabulous time and am so grateful I had the opportunity to see such a stunning region of Canada!
