My morning snack was supposed to be a whole-wheat tortilla topped with a spoonful of almond butter… but I got a little carried away (typical of me and nut butters…) and wasn’t too hungry by the time lunchtime rolled around.
I kept my mid-day meal on the lighter side, and enjoyed a toasted whole wheat English muffin topped with cream cheese and cranberry sauce.
Grape tomatoes and string cheese served as sides.
And now it’s time for some present talk! 😀
Gifts for Fitness Love-ahs!
I had such a good time compiling the list of gift ideas for my Holiday Gifts for Food-Loving Folks post last week, that I figured I would continue the series and scope out some goodies for fitness enthusiasts.
I created this list based on items I use all the time or items I am currently coveting. I hope it helps give you some holiday gift ideas for friends and family members… or at least gives you something to add to your own wish list!
I bring this wristlet with me to the gym every day. (*Proof #1* *Proof #2*) It is just big enough for an ID, iPod and keys, and is small enough to carry around with you without being cumbersome.
If you’re looking for a big-ticket item that will make nearly any runner happy, splurge for the Garmin Forerunner. It tracks your speed, distance, heart rate and other important information. I wear it on nearly every run (*Proof*)! (Side note: Never pay full price for this watch. It’s always on sale somewhere. Shop around online for a good deal.)
I own these in two different colors (*Proof*) and love them. They’re thick enough so they don’t show every lump and bump, but are thin enough to keep you cool through a workout. Plus, the thick waistband is slimming for those of you who have some junk in the trunk like me. 😉
If you read my blog with regularity, you know I am a huge fan of these cups. (*Proof*) You may find them at Bed, Bath and Beyond and can purchase different lids and straws for with them. Though I don’t take mine to the gym with me (I prefer a regular water bottle), I fill up the 24-ounce cup several times a day at work and it keeps my water cold, prevents condensation and encourages me to stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Yoga Mat Bag by CrzyBagLady from Etsy.com:
I don’t own this particular bag, but a bag this cute makes me want to really get into yoga… or just carry around my yoga mat to look cute.
- Massage Gift Certificate:
The best post-workout reward is a massage! Plus, who doesn’t love a massage?
After spending months training for distance races, many runners enjoy putting a magnet of honor on their car to display their accomplishment to the world and show everyone how bad-ass (or crazy) they are. (If you buy this for someone, please make sure to purchase a magnet decal, not a sticker. Stickers are a pain in the tookus to take off.)
