Last night I spent a good 30 minutes on Pinterest. I initially went on the site to help my sister find some pictures for a slideshow she’s putting together for work, but as any of my fellow pinners out there know, you can’t spend less than five minutes on the site.
Before I knew it, I was pinning away and lusting after this necklace…
(Yes, I totally added that hyperlink to make it easy for one special and handsome husband to find.)
I also fell in love with these boots…
(At just under $500 dollars, they are a steal! Hyperlink added for the benefit of you ballin’ ladies out there… AKA not me.)
And then I laughed at this little cartoon and emailed it to Ryan because who doesn’t love a little dino love?
One thing I did not expect to find on Pinterest? Workout ideas!
Once I stumbled upon a neat workout idea on the site, I started searching for more and felt inspired to try one of the workouts I pinned at the gym this morning.
Workout
Today’s workout began with the upper body workout I found on Pinterest which comes from the Tone it Up site:

Cool huh?
It was a super fast workout, but the combination of the push ups and the back-to-back planks got me sweating right off the bat. Phew!
Since I finished the pyramid workout pretty quickly, I added some more strength training exercises to my workout and completed three sets of the 15 repetitions of the following exercises:
- Tricep pulldowns
- Bicep curls
- Ryan’s awesome shoulder move
- Leg extensions
- Bridges (2 min. non-stop total)
- Hamstring curls
- One-legged leg extensions
- Crunches on exercise ball
I rounded out my workout with 20 minutes on the elliptical.
Now it’s 2 p.m. and I still haven’t had lunch. I’ve been snacking through the morning (pretzel crisps and peanut butter, why are you so addicting?) and I haven’t felt hungry until just now. Off to fix myself a plate!
Question of the Afternoon
- Have you ever found workout inspiration from an unexpected source?
