Ginger Beet Smoothie

Description

I set out to use the cabbage in my smoothie but made sure to include my go-to green smoothie ingredients – ginger and lemon – as well. Ginger and lemon are my favorite add-ins because they seem to blend well with all different kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 large carrot, chopped
  • 1 fresh beet, washed, scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 small head of cabbage, core removed
  • 1 large handful fresh kale
  • Fresh ginger, to taste (I used four relatively thin slices of fresh ginger)
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water (may use more or less to reach desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender
  2. Blend until everything is completely smooth and thin enough to to drink through a straw
