Shake What Yo Mama Gave Ya

July 8, 2010 by Julie 19 Comments

After work we made Sadie smile!

Smiley Girl

Trips to the dog park are her favorite afternoon activity.

When we round the corner to pull into the parking lot at the dog park, she practically hyperventilates because she’s so excited.

Lion in the Grass

She knows she’s about to enjoy an hour of fetching, sniffing, swimming and exploring.

I’m not gonna lie, I get a little excited, too. 😉

Adoring Dog

Happy Sadie

"Just Trrrrry To Get It..."

The lake took precedence for Sadie this evening, and we threw ball after ball into the water for her to retrieve.

BAAAAALLLLLLLL!

After each romp in the lake, Sadie took a minute to shake what her mama gave her.

Shake, Shake, Shake

Sadie shakes even when there’s no water on her. I’m not kidding when I say she probably shakes 30+ times a day.

Our trip to the park lasted for about an hour until our tummies told us it was  time for dinner.

Dinner

Since trips to the dog park usually last longer than a post-work walk with Sadie, we wanted to keep dinner quick and opted for Monterey Pasta Company spinach ricotta ravioli with steamed broccoli, marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese.

Bowl o' Tastiness

Pasta + Broc + Parm

I stirred everything up to distribute the sauce among the pasta poofs and the broccoli.

Thursday Night Dinner

Easy and delicious. That’s all I ask. 😉

Now I’m off to see if I can download all the stuff from my computer to an external hard drive. I am terrified of losing everything and my lap top is being very finicky lately.

(I should also mention that I am beyond thrilled that LeBron will be making his decision in less than 15 minutes. Hallelujah! Now I can have 75 percent of my conversations with Ryan back! 😉 )

Okay, so my bestie has a Springer Spaniel named Lola and she is the most energetic dog I’ve ever seen. NOTHING tires her out and she is relentless in her activity. She can run up and down a 5 mile 2000 ft elevation hike twice and not be tired.

I’d love to see her and Sadie play and tire one another out 🙂

I completely agree on the LeBron decision, that has been the sole topic in our household for days….

ash – hahahaha. so agreed. the fiancee has been with me almost all afternoon, and 85% of that afternoon was spent checking his blackberry for any lebron discussions on facebook, twitter, etc. i’m almost surprised he didn’t make today’s blog post a dedication to lebron.

OMG, National Lebron Day. I just laughed so hard, cause it’s so true, I didn’t even watch it because he was annoying me so bad with this, I just checked the news afterward.

Sadie is so cute! I didn’t know her breed would retrieve in the water? Whenever I go to the lakehouse, we alway through this rubber buoy out into the lake for my friend’s golden retriever to go get. We have races, too! We start in the shallows and someone throws the rubber buoy, and then we all (including Teddy, the dog) swim-sprint to get there first! Except its not always a good thing to win, because if Teddy doesn’t get there first he tends to tackle and attempt to drown whoever does!
