Hot Tea + Dog Snuggies

October 11, 2010 by Julie 34 Comments

I didn’t have a chance to run to the grocery store once we arrived back in Orlando yesterday, so I had slim pickin’s to work with when it came time to assemble my lunch today.

I made it work by making a Muenster cheese and avocado bagelwich. (Yes, the avocado was leftover from last week and a bit brown.)

Monday Lunch

Leftover Avocado

On the side I enjoyed a sliced cucumber and a banana. The cucumber was partly frozen because apparently my fridge gets confused sometimes. It was only okay, but I still ate all of my slices.

Cucs

And, since it is negative five degrees in my office today, I also sipped on a mug of Mighty Leaf chocolate mint truffle tea which helped me go from this…

Cold & Grouchy

to…

Slowly Feelin' the Heat

this…

Warm & Happy

Much betta!

I think I may have to bring in a fleece blanket to leave at my desk at work. Two other women I work with have blankets at their desks and they look warm and cozy.

Maybe I should kick it up a notch and bring in a Snuggie.

Speaking of Snuggies, did you know they make them for dogs?

Sadie the Snuggie Model

I bet less than 2 percent of the dog population would actually enjoy this product. Sadie will let us dress her up all day long, but if her legs were stuck inside a blanket, she’d go ape caca on us!

Back to work I go. Let’s hope this hot tea that’s sittin’ in my belly keeps me warm until closing time!

FIRST!!! (haha – for those of you who watch Tosh.0 )

Dog snuggies are hilarious. I couldn’t imagine what my dog would do if we subjected her to wearing one.
    It’d be hot pink, though… that’s her color 🙂

I hate when fridges get confused. That always happens to my cucumbers too. ITS THE WORST!

HAHA, my best friend’s westie has a snuggie and it goes NUTS in it. Hilarious. Not sure that you could even get a dog as big as Sadie into one though- there’s definitely some wrestling that occurs!

My dog would love a snuggie…if you leave a blanket, towel, pillow, or anything soft on the floor, you can bet he will crawl under it and take a nap.

My mom bought a dog snuggie for one of our dogs. He hated it. He just sat there whenever she put it one him and my mom ended up returning it. Too bad, they look hilarious. The inventor of the snuggie must be laughing their way to the bank!

I love the mug 🙂 Dog snuggies may be taking it a bit too far, because last I heard dogs had something called fur to keep them warm & cozy.

I actually got a snuggie for my Pug last year, my husband thought I had gone crazy. I ended up taking it back because it didn’t fit him good 🙁

My office is freezing year round, it is horrible! I honestly have to dress like it is winter every single day. I need to stock up on tea though, thanks for the reminder!

I am always cold, especially at work. I usually end up wearing my jacket the entire day. It’s even worse in the winter when I have to put on my winter coat and scarf. I got my dog a snuggie but he wouldn’t wear it and it didn’t fit him right. They are super cute though. 🙂

I totally have a snuggie at work! I’m a teacher & have the most freezing classroom in the building. I feel a little ridiculous standing in front of my class in it (I wear it robe-style, though), but it gets the job done. I think I need to invest in a cute, pink one though. The one I have has the Cincinnati Reds logo all over it! One of the guys I teach with felt bad for me & brought it in! 🙂

I wear my Snuggie all the time at home (the cheetah print one!) and I wish I could wear one at work. I am always cold!

I do wish Snuggies had a hood and mitten attachments — that is all they need!

i’m very lucky in that my work awards employees 2, 15 min. paid breaks daily, so i usually use that for my lunchtime blog post. my breakfast post is often complete before i get to work (i may just fill in a picture or two).

Oh my gosh–dog snuggies! What else will “they” come up with? So funny! And you should leave a hoodie on the back of your chair for those cold days. A blanket would make me a little too comfy and want to fall asleep. But I don’t have that problem because my classroom temp is controlled with my two window ac units.

I think a dog snuggie is a great idea. Where else will she keep her bone while she is watching tv? Hands free!

Your lunch looks pretty fresh for being all leftovers. Lots o’ green in there!

My friend bought a snuggie for each of my Jack Russell terrires before we moved to Alaska, and they LOVE them. They typically can’t stand any kind of clothes or anything, but they love those things. 🙂

My parents’ dog (a labradoodle) totally has a Snuggie! Even though it’s adorable on, it’s actually counterproductive because the poor thing gets overheated!

And the brown on the avocado would not bother me at all. A little colour isn’t going to stop me from eating the creamy goodness of an avocado 🙂

I have heard that snuggies are actually quite uncomfortable, so I have never had plans to get one. And I’m not a huge fan of dressing up animals, but mostly just because so many of them seem to dislike it!
