Feels Like Friday

July 19, 2012 by Julie 48 Comments

Does today feel like Friday to anyone else?

I feel like I should be packing my bags for St. Pete for the weekend. Sure, I could pack a day early, but I’d rather pack tomorrow because packing is just awful. Waiting until the last minute isn’t the smartest idea because then it’s too late to wash any clothes that I might need once I realize that they’re at the bottom of my laundry basket. It’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Between Sadie who believes she is the keeper of the suitcase and me who huffs and puffs and complains throughout the whole packing ordeal, the Fagan household is not a fun place to be when a trip is on the horizon.

dog packing

Since I obviously wasn’t packing today, I spent the first few hours of the morning writing before heading out. I had plans to pop into the office of one of my freelance clients and pick up the latest edition of their magazine.

melon madness

Oh hey, I know that girl. Smile

Workout

Before driving home, I headed to the gym for a workout.

I took a TRX class, but this one was 15 minutes longer than the class I usually take on Wednesdays. I preferred the longer length because we had the chance to add a couple more circuits to the workout and stretch at the end. I ended up doing a few more of my favorite hip stretches before driving home because my hips are feeling a little sore.

Lunch

Today’s lunch came together fast because I was feeling impatient when I arrived home.

eggs veggies

I made a bowl of hummus scrambled eggs with broccoli, tomato, onion and yellow squash.

Plus a side of pseudo-trail mix that included a base of cereal topped with a sprinkling of candied pecans and chocolate chips.

Is the piece of Vera that Sadie is sitting on a bathroom kit? If so do you find that it’s big enough?

Ebay is the best for Vera; great deals and discontinued pieces. I also TOTALLY agree with you that if feels like Friday, it’s honestly felt like Friday everyday this week!

Nothing better than chocolate chips, cereal and nuts! I had chocolate chip granola on top of a new parfait today for lunch…incredible! Sometimes you just need chocolate!
Yes totally feels like it should be Friday, always the way when you’re looking forward to something…so disappointed when I had to hawl my bootie out of bed and to work!

It’s felt like Friday all day today for me, too. I keep thinking about the weekend-y things I’m doing tomorrow, and then I remember that today is only Thursday. 🙁

I love your suitcase! I’m sick of my plain old ugly black one. And I think I need some candied pecans and chocolate chips immediately. Yum!

Julie- I was just curious as to your running/ xt ratio during the week. I’ve been training for my first 1/2- the Rock n Roll in Chicago THIS SUNDAY! But am looking to change my workout regiment up after the race. I thought maybe you could give me some inspiration!

Haha love that pic of Sadie! And colorful luggage is always the best because it’s easy to spot and less people have a lookalike bag – I rarely see yellow! I have hot pink 🙂

Our dog goes crazy when we are packing too. The minute he see’s the suitcase he loses his mind and starts whimpering and crying for fear of being left behind. Now we just pack things in a pile and bring the suitcases out last minute.

Btw, love the yellow suitcase. Your lunch is making my stomach growl…

I think that every week in the summer (or always) should be four day weeks…I don’t really get the five days of work, two day weekend split…that’s way too many workdays!
