Favorite Photography Subject

July 1, 2013 by Julie 37 Comments

My flight home from Portland (by way of Atlanta) landed in Jacksonville around 10 p.m. yesterday. After driving a little more than two hours, I walked in the door of our house in Ocala around 12:30 a.m. and was greeted by this little wiggle worm.

silly vizsla

What is with that face!? She’s such a little ham.

A little while ago, my Nikon D3000 camera broke and last weekend my sister’s boyfriend figured out how to fix it. I’ve been using my point and shoot camera for all of my photos (the Canon PowerShot S90 – the PowerShot S100 is the updated version) and while I absolutely love it, the action mode on the Nikon D3000 is the only thing that can properly capture Sadie and her crazy ways. She’s a blur in nearly every picture I take with my point and shoot! I’m glad to have it back so I can capture her goofy expressions again!

Sadie is, without question, my favorite photography subject. I missed my little girl! It feels good to be back with Ryan and Sadie again. I don’t think we’ll be leaving Florida at all in July, so I’ll have lots of time with these two this month!

Today

This morning, after I ate a quick breakfast of banana bread protein pancakes and typed up my morning blog post, I drove to work. I worked through the morning and most of the afternoon, only taking one 15 minute break to eat the tuna salad I packed around 11:30 a.m.

Before heading home for the day, I completed a workout that began with 25 minutes on the elliptical and ended with an upper body workout.

By the time I made it back to our house I was ready for part two of my lunch. I quickly fixed myself a snack plate of veggies with hummus and fresh strawberries.

Sabra Hummus and Vegetables

I am loving the Sabra spinach and artichoke hummus. Southeast U.S. friends: It’s BOGO at Publix right now!

Sabra Spinach Artichoke Hummus

As I ate my veggies, I blended a chocolate peanut butter protein smoothie to enjoy on the side.

All in all, a delicious meal!

Plans for the rest of the night include unpacking, a short evening hike with Ryan and Sadie and dinner outside on the grill!

See ya in the morning!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

For like 2 years I ate hummus every single day and finally could not eat another bite of it, but I think I’m now ready to start purchasing it again- my snacks need some variety. I love Sabra and haven’t had this kind- looks and sounds awesome!

I’ve never seen that flavor of hummus in NJ – I recently had the roasted pine nut kind for the first time and it’s my new favorite!

Aww Sadie is too adorable! She is SUCH a worm, in the best possible way :).

Those strawberries look so perfectly ripe by the way! Do you get yours organic or just the normal ones form the store if you don’t mind me asking?

Dogs seriously make the most fantastic faces, my dog will ham it up for the camera one minute and then be a camera shy diva the next but the pics are hilarious either way.

So I am new to blogging but absolutely love some of your posts! Question for you, do you have a favorite protein powder? Probably the only thing I haven’t found as part of my healthy lifestyle changes over the past few years. Don’t want to bulk up but want to slim and down.

I might start a blog but have very very little money and zero camera knowledge. Does Wal-Mart sell anything very cheap but with nice photos? Would love it if you knew!

I wish I had never fooled around with my eating and fitness for years and years. I have no appetite and a confused metabolism now and am reaping consequences. You have a huge, hearty appetite and you’re fit and eat freely. Your metabolism is stoked because you always honor it. I fear I’ve gone too far in all extremes and ends. It’s hard to deal sometimes.

On that note, what is on your dinner grilling agenda? And also, do you have a bedtime snack every night and if so what is the most typical? Thank you for your time in reading and answering.

Classic spinach and artichoke dips (the creamy kind) at parties are one of my biggest weaknesses! I’m sure that hummus is a much healthier alternative…I have to try it!

Also, that chocolate peanut butter protein smoothie just sparked a new craving in me. I know what’s for breakfast tomorrow!
