I’m meeting up with four of my sorority sisters in LA, and we’re planning on sipping on some strawberry basil margs! Maybe some berry and brownie kebabs?! SO excited to spend some girl time with them:)

Juice is one of the best snacks…it’s so perfect for 4-5pm when your body is tired and likely to confuse low energy with hunger. I start each day with a fresh juice, usually apples, collard greens, cucumber, celery, kiwi and lemon. Juice at juice bars is so expensive, while a juicer is pricey (around $300), it pays for itself when you can turn a couple of dollars of produce into a giant, delicious juice. So worth it

This year, I’m making an angel food cake (SO simple – 1 box of angel food cake mix with either 12 oz. seltzer – I like vanilla flavor, OR 1 can of crushed pineapple), topped with cool whip, fresh strawberries and blueberries. It’s easy, patriotic, light and delicious!

Oh some of those ideas are so great! I’ve done a sugar cookie/fruit pizza flag before. It was super yummy & fun!

All of those treats look DELISH. We’re having friends over for a cookout, then watching fireworks that night in our little town. I’m playing hostess with the mostess and already have most of my decorations up 🙂 Maaaaybe I love 4th of July a little too much. I’ll probably make a funfetti cake and do the typical white icing w/ strawberries and blueberries flag on top! Although, that s’more flag could be a close second!!!

I’m always requested to bring a Chocolate Covered Strawberry pie when we have get togethers there but this year I’m also bringing some “skinny” sides!

I was thinking of making red, white, and blue kabobs for the fourth. Angel Food cake, strawberries and blueberries. We’ll have to see since I do have to work on the fourth.
I wanted to grill my veggies, but with the rain and my grill won’t lighting I had to move it inside and broil my veggies instead. They were super yum!

I’m addicted to fresh juice. I juice cleanse a few times a year and try to make a big thing to store in mason jars each week. It’s so much better than buying a carton of juice!

I am so jealous of your rain! It hasn’t rained here in Los Angeles in AGES! AGES I TELL YOU! If Los Angeles were a person, it would be so dehydrated, it’d need to go to the hospital and be put on an IV to get some fluids. LOL! Uh, did that make sense?!

When I think of 4th of July I always think of the desert our good family friend always made. It was a deep dish cake, starting with a thing layer of vanilla pudding (for moisture and sweetness), a layer of pound cake, a layer of cool whip + fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, anything on sale!), then repeat! I’ve made the cake by subbing the butter in the pound cake for fat free greek yogurt and it was delicious!

That chili looks yummy! I plan to bring some mini cheesecake cookie bites. They are like thumbprint cookies, and the center is filled with a cream cheese mixture. I plan to dye the cookie part red and blue, and the center will be white. Fingers crossed it turns out like I picture it in my head! 🙂
