Leslie’s Savannah Bachelorette Party: Day Two

January 23, 2014 by Julie 77 Comments

The second day of Leslie’s Savannah Bachelorette Party was packed with lots of exploring and laughter… And a little haunted fun!

We woke up early enough to grab something light to eat at the complimentary hotel breakfast buffet before we headed back up to our rooms to change and get ready for the full day ahead.

Leslie’s high school friend and sorority sister made everyone Pop, Clink, Fizz-themed long-sleeve lilac shirts to wear for the day that were incredibly comfortable.

Leslie was really excited when she unwrapped the shirt and realized we all had the same one to wear!

The shirts ended up being a great idea. Lots of people stopped our group and congratulated Leslie which was really neat!

Brunch at B. Matthew’s Eatery

Once everyone was dressed and ready to go, we walked a couple of blocks to B. Matthew’s Eatery for brunch.

(For those who asked via Instagram about our outfits, I tried to link to some of the items, but if I couldn’t find the exact item, I linked to something similar. On Leslie: Jacket – Off 5th… similar option from Macy’s, Scarf – Banana Republic Outlet // On me: Jacket – Cole Haan via RueLaLa, Scarf and Purse – StitchFix, Boots – Corso Como via RueLaLa)

They did such a great job of accommodating our large group on a Saturday morning. When I made the reservation, they said they would have to split up our group into two tables, but they were kind enough to put us right next to each other.

Plus, the food was so fresh and we had no trouble scarfing down omelets, quiche, pancakes and mimosas.

My omelet was filled with goat cheese, spinach and tomatoes.

Exploring Savannah

After we paid the bill, it was time to do some exploring! Our afternoon was open so we had plenty of time to wander in and out of local shops and explore Savannah at our leisure.

We popped into a number of shops and boutiques and enjoyed looking around at lots of Southern gifts and trinkets. Somehow we found ourselves in more than one delicious-smelling candy shop!

IMG_3129 IMG_3177

The chocolates at Chocolat by Adam Turoni on Broughton Street were unbelievable. A visit to this adorable chocolate shop is a must if you’re ever in Savannah! Each tiny chocolate is $2.50, so the chocolates are not cheap by any means, but the two I bought and immediately devoured were unreal. A fabulous sweet treat!

Eventually our stomachs told us it was time to eat and a few of us popped into a local pizza restaurant for a quick late lunch/early dinner before it was time to start getting ready for the evening ahead.

Bachelorette Party 2.0

Our second night of Leslie’s bachelorette party kicked off in a similar fashion to her first night. We decorated the room and had more fun surprises in store for the bride-to-be.

And fun champagne glasses decorated by Leslie’s friend Allison!

Once everyone arrived in our room dressed in various shades of pink (with the bride-to-be in white), it was time for Leslie to unwrap gifts!

(Don’t mind the bottle of champagne chillin’ on ice in a garbage can. We’re classy like that.)

Everyone brought lingerie, pajamas or loungewear for Leslie to open and as she unwrapped every gift, she had to guess who gave it to her, which added a little fun to the party!

Right before it was time to leave, everyone made sure to kiss and sign a picture frame for Leslie that will soon be filled with a picture from her bachelorette party.

Boos and Brews Tour

Before we knew it, our group had to start walking to McDonough’s Pub to kick off our next activity which ended up being the highlight of the bachelorette party.

It was time for the Boos and Brews Tour!

Boos and Brews Tour Savannah

The two hour tour (which ended up being closer to three hours <—not a bad thing!) took our group all over downtown Savannah. Our guide, Diane, told us about the history of the city and made sure to add plenty of scary stories and legends.

During the tour, we made a few stops at local pubs for drinks and Diane made sure to tell us about the local favorites, including a “pickle back shot” which is a shot of Jameson chased with pickle juice. Yikes!

IMG_0959

By the end of the tour my abs were hurting from laughing so hard and our group had the best time! It was a neat way to see the city, that’s for sure!

After the Boos and Brews tour, we hit up Rocks on the Roof and spent the rest of the night singing and dancing. When we initially arrived, it was quite crowded but once it thinned out a little and our group was able to find a spot on the dance floor, we never left! The DJ played lots of throwback ‘90s music and we sang and danced our hearts out until the place closed.

Leslie’s bachelorette party was obviously a lot of fun, but the highlight of the weekend for me came in the early afternoon on Sunday. When I said goodbye to Leslie in Jacksonville before I drove on to Ocala, she started tearing up when she thanked me and talked about how much fun she had and how loved she felt. My sister is honestly one of the most kind, generous and loving people in the world and she deserves to feel all the love that came her way last weekend during her bachelorette party!

I can’t wait for her bridal shower in a few weeks!!!

Cute champagne glasses! How did you draw on them? Is there a marker made for glass that you can use to do this or something? (<–creative/crafting reject here)
