Unusual Lunch

October 15, 2013 by Julie 24 Comments

Lunch this afternoon was a little unusual!

Once I made it back to our house this morning and smothered Sadie in kisses, I quickly assembled a packable lunch to bring with me to work. There were slim pickings in the Fagan refrigerator this morning, so I did my best and packed some mini peppers, graham crackers and an egg white and oatmeal pancake that I cooked up for a protein punch.

I also packed a giant bottle of water to keep myself hydrated.

Drink up!

With my lunch packed, I said goodbye to Sadie and headed off to the gym to work and teach. I have a brief break now but will be heading back to work shortly to coach a team for the Livestrong program we launched two weeks ago. We did assessments last week so tonight is our first official group workout!

Gotta go!

An unusual lunch indeed, but it looks really good!! Good variety in there ;). Our fridge was pretty bare this morning too. I grabbed some butternut squash soup, an apple, and picked up some hummus and veggies on my way to work!

Last Sunday’s brunch! An egg white omelet, veggies and hummus, snapea crisps, and 1/2 a bar of white chocolate. Random and perfect.

I do the random grab all the time! We usually have fruit, granola bars and sliced deli meat on hand so sometimes I’ll just eat that.

That’s actually why we bought them to begin with and we have yet to make s’mores!

I’m always up for pancakes! Squash and eggs may be unusual for some, but it’s a go-to for me.

I absolutely hate wasting food, so I am notorious for packing the ultra-random lunch. It’s always fun seeing what things I can throw together and call a meal! That pancake does look tasty though.

My lunch time at work is at 10:00, so I always have a random lunch because I’m never quite ready for a real lunch! I usually throw a cheese stick, almonds, some type of fruit, and a yogurt in my bag and call it a day!

Sometimes random meals are the best! You have a nice mix of everything in there!

I’m sure you enjoyed your doggie kisses – we are heading to pick up my dog from a friends after being gone all weekend in about an hour and I am already looking forward to crazy dog love!

Love your dedication to still bringing your lunch! With such slim pickings I probably would have bought mine 🙂

My whole food life is a bunch of random things put together for meals 🙂 The most random combination that I’ve had recently was probably Goldfish dipped in Laughing Cow cheese, celery, cucumbers, hummus, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese AND greek yogurt for a protein kick. Thanks for showing the big picture of water and making me feel guilty because I need to drink more water!

Those graham crackers look like they’d make some really good s’mores! Maybe even throw in a caramel-filled chocolate bar to really amp it up! I will use any and all excuses to put caramel on just about anything, especially salted caramel!

My lunch isn’t random, because I stick to a daily PBJ. However, when my husband isn’t home, dinner is rarely photogenic. I’m known to take any sort of vegetable that is available and mix it in tomato sauce to put on top of pasta. I call it my “cacciatore”, when it fact, it’s just mush of the stuff that didn’t get consumed during the week. These are habits I developed in Orlando and have brought with me out to San Francisco. Some things never change …

Haha! The other day I had a lunch that consisted of leftover soup, a tossed together salad, and a blueberry pancake. Definitely understand random lunch combos! Oh the perks of forgetting to pack a lunch until 5 minutes before you leave in the morning.

It’s not terrible random but a few days ago I had a delicious lunch….I had a half of an everything bagel with Temptee whipped cream cheese (it’s the BEST!) and a slice of muenster cheese on top, with some multigrain tortilla chips on the side. SO YUM!!

I had some breakfast sausage with maple syrup, pasta with garlic and oil, and broccoli and cheese. Haha, I was hungry and it was pretty much all that was left in my freezer/pantry 😛

I’m the queen of random! I need new work lunch routines — but the other night I had a mixed (not so healthy) dinner of Wheat Thins, fresh veggies, random dip, crock pot pulled pork, I just kept snacking away!

I absolutely HATE when I wake up in a bad mood and can’t kick it! It’s the worst feeling. I totally agree about playing with your dog though. I play with one of my foster dogs and almost immediately my mood changes – they are just ALWAYS happy so how can that not be contagious?
