Guest List Grand Total

April 25, 2010 by Julie 25 Comments

This morning I was up a little before 6 a.m. because Sadie was acting like a nut job all night.

In the middle of the night my mom let her out to go to the bathroom and she would not stop barking. We think there may have been some birds or a critter in our backyard, but whatever it was Sadie did not think it belonged there. Sadie spent the rest of the night curled up with me, tossing and turning. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep so well!

Though waking up before dawn on the weekend isn’t exactly ideal, it did give me a chance to get a quick run in before the hustle and bustle of the day began. I even got to try out my new Garmin!

Garmin Forerunner

Unfortunately I had it set up to report my statistics in kilometers, so I didn’t really understand my pace very well! I like my miles. 😉 I converted my statistics when I got home and found that Sadie and I covered slightly more than 5 miles.

Meeting the Pastor

After a quick breakfast, Ryan and I headed out to meet with Pastor Dean, a potential officiate for our wedding at his home in Dunedin, Florida.

Pastor Dean and his wife were wonderful to meet and seemed like such genuine people. Plus, Pastor Dean was very open to incorporating our ideas into the ceremony. I think we found another winner!

Brunch

When we arrived back to my parents’ house, we had a big brunch waiting for us.

Brunch

Before we sat down, my dad handed everyone mimosas to enjoy!

I filled my plate with all the goodies, and went back for seconds of the ham and thirds of the hash browns.

Guest List

After brunch, we printed off our list of everyone in the world we would like to invite to the wedding and discussed everything thoroughly to get to a final number we are all comfortable with.

Our grand total… 155 people!

The total is definitely more than we initially thought we would have on our list, but it’s not as outrageously huge as it could have been. It feels good to have all of our guests on paper!

How many people came to your wedding? If you’re not married, do you want a big wedding or a small wedding?

We invited about 200 and we had about 170 show up. They say to plan on 75% of the people you invite to actually come. It was a nice number and it didn’t feel too small or too big. I love weddings like that. The REALLY huge ones can be so overwhelming that I feel like the bride and groom don’t ever actually known how came and who didn’t. If you are inviting 155 people I would expect about 110-120 people to be there. That sounds really nice and intimate! But that is just my opinion! 🙂 haha!

Love the pic of you and your dad! We had a pretty big wedding – close to 400. But we have a ton of family friends and literally knew everyone there!

We had about 180 people attend our wedding. We originally wanted only 150 but both of our families had a bunch of family members and friends to invite.

My wedding day was THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. I don’t remember tons of details — thankfully I have TONS of pictures and a video. I have never felt so loved or so beautiful and everyone that is important to me was there. Wedding planning is full of ups and downs but the wedding day is just amazing!

At least you got that early run in – hopefully a nap this afternoon?! Brunch looks fab, aren’t parents the best? I know I will have a big wedding – just my parents friends alone will be 100 people.

We had about 150 people at our wedding. I thought it was just right. I was just reminiscing about my wedding day with Tina at our meet-up today and we both agreed our weddings were the best day of our lives!! I wish I could have a wedding every year!! 🙂 Enjoy every lovely minute of it!!

Most weddings I’ve been to have around 150-200 people. I think that’s the average. My guest list will be just me, my groom and a witness. We don’t want a big wedding, we’re the courthouse or Vegas wedding types.

Wow…sounds wonderful. Um..at this point, I’m just hoping to find a fiancee that treats me well. I’ve not lucked out in the past and had to leave the last…but that being said..we were planning on about 75 guests. 🙂

You’ll be a beautiful bride Julie!

My wedding was really small only 50 people but my family in the States is pretty small and my Husband’s family was out of state. It was perfect though.

I think we invited 400 and had about 275 come. It was big, but we had it in my hometown that my dad also grew up in. It was one of those small town weddings where you have to invite everyone. It was perfect for us, but it was pretty big

Hi Julie, Just found your blog. My daughter Katie “Fit To Wed” (you should check out her blog) just got married on March 27, 2010. We had 200 guests and it was the most amazing wedding ever, of course I’m going to think that I am her Mom but it really was beautiful!!

Mimosas!! Yum. What a great family you have. 🙂 You and Ryan make a beautiful couple. Good luck with the planning and maybe Katie can give you some tips if you need any.
My in-laws live in Port Richey Florida. I don’t know if that is near you but its beautiful there. I live in Northern California (wine country).
Have a great evening 🙂 Glad I found your blog, you are so cute.

I almost went nuts planning mine, and SOOoo wanted to just elope! we had about 3 months to plan, and luckily wanted it to be small. we ended up with 17 guests, and it was Perfect. We rented a house in Manhcester Washington which is across the bay from downtown Seattle, and you can see the entire skyline.

Hi Julie! I’m loving your blog 🙂
Just wanted to let you know that it’s pretty easy to switch between km and miles on the Garmin 305. Just go to the menu, settings, general, units, and switch from metric-statute. I have to switch back and forth all the time because my boyfriend likes kms and I like miles.
Hope Sadie lets you sleep tonight!

we invited adults only….only nursing babies were allowed to come.
We invited 188 and had 167 attend (dinner only)
For our ceremony we had 450. For all of those guests we had Hors D’ourves and our wedding cake served in a stand-up like mini reception.

we didn’t want that many. However, we’re both Pastors of the church so it was very hard to cut the list. The stand-up reception immediately following helped deal with that issue

    Mimosas are my FAVORITE! 😛
We invited about 275 guests to our wedding and ended up around 230! It was definitely a LARGE wedding, but it’s exactly what I wanted. My husband comes from a large family, so that’s where a lot of our numbers came from. And we were so prepared, that we actually got all our “thank you’s” done before dinner started! So we were out on the dance floor ALL night! 😀

I miss the wedding planning process *sigh*
My husband and I had a tiny wedding compared to some of these numbers, at about 45 people! It seems smal, yes, but was so perfect for us as we just wanted to have a select few of the nearest and dearest people. (Plus, I get really really shy in crowds, lol)
Have a blast with the wedding, and try to take a few minutes for just you two alone during the reception to absorb and enjoy the moment, because believe me—that night will pass by SO fast!

My husband and I were married September 26, 2009. Our wedding was rather large to say the least. We each had 7 attendants, sent out 275 invitations, which totaled about 450 people. We had aprrox. 230 guest at the wedding. No, sadly enough I don’t remember everyone who was there but I know that they had fun!!
