$400 Shoes Are Pretty

May 21, 2010 by Julie 22 Comments

Late this morning my mom, sister and I headed to the mall to visit a boutique that was having a mother of the bride trunk show.

We parked outside of Nordstrom and as we walked through the store to get to the boutique in the mall, we got a little sidetracked by these beauties:

Stuart Weitzman Beauties

How gorgeous would these be as wedding shoes?

Shoes from the Side

I'll Just Wear These Out...

Sadly they come with a $400 price tag, so these pretty little shoes were placed right back on the stand. 😉

After the shoe fun, we headed to Cici’s Boutique to look at the mother of the bride dresses they had in stock as part of their trunk show.

Cici's Boutique

They had a lot of dresses to look at, but many looked too matronly and a little dated. I think we all envision my mom in something shorter and more fun.

My mom, sister and I all really liked this dress:

Potential Mother of the Bride Dress

The dress comes with a beautiful shawl as well.

We’re not sure if this is the dress she’ll wear, but it’s in the running!

On our way back out to our car, we made a pit stop into Victoria’s Secret for their semi-annual sale (which Ryan calls their bi-weekly sale because it seems to happen every other week).

I’m always amazed at some of the stuff they sell in there!

Ehhh, No Thanks

Large sparkly beading on the side of underwear doesn’t exactly scream comfort (or sexy) to me…

Lunch

All that shopping made us hungry!

We came home and made imitation crab meat salad sandwiches. On the side I enjoyed broccoli slaw with ginger dressing, fresh pineapple and peanuts in the shell.

Lunch

Pineapple

Jumbo Roasted Peanuts

Peanuts in the shell are such a treat! They make me feel like I’m at a baseball game or something.

I’m off to get some sun outside and read the second Percy Jackson book. Days off of work sure are niiiice. 😉

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Those shoes are gorgeous! You’ll find the perfect pair at a much nicer price though.

I just ordered 3 pairs of yoga pants from the Victorias Secret sale for 12.99 a pair! What a deal?! they have a bunch of cute swimsuits on sale, too. I’m having a hard time choosing.

Those shoes are GORGEOUS!!! Buuuuut I can’t imagine spending $400 on shoes that are hidden under a long dress and probably kicked off later in the evening for dancing 🙂

Buuuut if you go with a super short dress, then I say rock out with the $400 ones! haha

    Have a great weekend!!!

I Love the shoes also- but I’m not sure they are worth $400:( Maybe you can find some like them. Also understand the Mom shopping. My Mom is tiny (like 5 5 and 115 lbs tiny) shopping with her is hard! Also that thong is crazy- that looks so anti sexy

it’s awesome! it’s finely sliced broccoli… you can buy it in a pack at the grocery store in the section w/ pre-sliced veggies.

Jasmine Bridal has some great line (Jade) for Mother of the Bride dresses that don’t really look like the typical mother-of-the-bride-looks-like-it-fell-into-a-bottle-of-sequence type dress, my mom and mother-in-law found their dresses from that designer, and I think a lot of boutiques should sell the Jade line. I also got my bridesmaid dresses from the B2 collection! I guess I could be considered the unpaid spokeswoman for them

    1) broccoli slaw is the best, and

    2) i wore beautiful stuart weitzmans at my wedding but they are silver (you couldn’t see them under my dress) and I have worn them so many times since then to fancy events. I love that every time I wear them I am reminded of our wedding day, and it doesn’t hurt that I got them on sale (bloomingdales is currently having a shoe sale so it doesn’t hurt to check it out).

This is probably a dumb question, but is that a special type of broccoli in the broccoli slaw?

& I love the shoes as well! But goodness $400 is a lot!
