Ahhh, The Dentist

March 8, 2010 by Julie 17 Comments

I stayed the night in St. Pete at my parents’ house because I have an early morning dentist appointment in town.

You might be wondering, why don’t I just get a dentist in Orlando?

It’s quite simple really. I am terrified of all things medical and I love my dentist. He has a great track record of filling cavities and making every dental experience pain-free.

How do you feel about visiting the dentist or doctor?

When I say I’m terrified of medical things, I’m not kidding. I hate needles and blood and have to lay down to get a shot. I don’t even have my ears pierced. My mom is a nurse… but my dad is the same way as me. We’re big babies! 😀

This morning, I had a quick workout:

  • 10 min. stair master
  • total-body weights
  • 10 min. elliptical

I’ll be enjoying breakfast on the run (protein bar + Chobani raspberry Greek yogurt), as I head out for my dentist appointment before driving back to Orlando to get to work!

Breakfast on the Go!

Cross your fingers for no cavaties!!

I hate them, too. I can never change dentists or doctors – it scares the crap out of me!

I’m the same way with shots! I pass out! I think thats why I try to be so healthy, so I don’t have to go to the doctor! The dentist is just as bad =)

Good luck at the dentist! I hate seeing the dentist. Doctors don’t bother me really but the dentist….NOOOOO!!!! I can’t stand having blood drawn or IVs put in at the doctor though. Seeing things going into my skin freaks the crap outta me.

And I don’t have my ears pierced either!

I don’t mind doctors, but I dread my dentist appt every 6 months. Yuck!

PS–I didn’t comment on your other posts this weekend but I read them. Looked like a wonderful weekend. I love your family and all the fun things you guys do. You’re a lucky gal.

Haha, this post makes me laugh. I’m totally opposite. I have my ears pierced 5 times and three of them I did myself. I even pierced my own nose with a safety pin when I was 14.

I don’t have a doctor…maybe I should get on that. But I do go to the dentist every 6 months.

Don’t worry I’m the same way, my dentist is still in my hometown too. I was actually supposed to make an appointment this week since I’m in town for spring break but I keep forgetting (thanks for reminding me, haha!)
Hope you have a great Monday!!

I can’t believe you don’t have your ears pierced! Do you just wear clip-on earrings??

I am the same way as you-I have to lay down to get blood taken or a shot. I’m getting surgery in two weeks and have to put put asleep and I’m already freaking out. I don’t know how I’m going to do it. I also have the same doctor I’ve always had because of this reason.

I LOVE the dentist! It’s kinda weird, but I have since I was a little kid. I even wanted braces and was quite disappointed when my teeth came in straight by themselves. 🙂

Haha, I’m the same away about needles and blood! I have to lie down while they do it and I make them use the teeniest needle, but I’ve still been known to almost black out afterwards.

Since I don’t like getting poked and prodded, it’s not a big surprise I don’t like going to the dentist or doctor, but thankfully it’s just a once or twice a year thing.

It’s almost January and most people time for “New Year Resolution.” I have researched many places online and haven’t found much about “dentist New year Resolution.”(Funny!!) Just thinking of many ideas to get individuals who don’t see dentists on regular basis to invest some “times” and visit a local dentist. Your ideas will be appreciated. Thank you
