An Evening Walk

December 28, 2010 by Julie 41 Comments

Even though Ryan has to work this week when the majority of his colleagues have off, his schedule will hopefully be less hectic through Thursday. I was happy to get a call from him as I was walking out to my car after work telling me that he was on his way home.

Sadie was thrilled when we both walked through the door and immediately changed into our play clothes for a chilly evening walk with the pup. pork 040pork 036We covered about 2.5 miles and walked around beautiful Lake Eola as the sun was setting. pork 042 pork 047Nighttime walks are really fun! We loved looking at the remaining Christmas lights while they’re still up and twinkling.

Dinner

Once we arrived home, it was dinnertime!

Tonight’s meal included roasted pork with apples, served alongside roasted cauliflower and carrot slices.

pork 054pork 056The heat from the oven warmed our whole apartment. Now it’s nice a cozy!

Dessert was a little bowl full of M&Ms from my Christmas candy stash.

pork 049 The M&Ms were a gift from my cousins as a joke because the last time I visited them in North Carolina, I ate all of the M&Ms out of their big bowl of trai lmix while we were chatting away in the kitchen. Oops!

Can you really blame me though? M&Ms > Raisins, right?

I’m off to crawl into bed a little early tonight and read my girly book (Mini Shopaholic, in case you were wondering). Sounds like the perfect evening activity if you ask me. Catcha lata!

It’s so funny, my dog can only go about 1 mile around Lake Eola before he’s dragging his paws and wants to go home! lol He’s no Sadie, that’s for sure.

Julie, do you tan/use a bronzer, or do you naturally have sun-kissed skin? I’m jealous! My skin “pales” in comparison. (Haha, oh my…)

What kind do you use? I’ve tried a few, but they end up looking streaky or orange.

Mom and pops made a two separate snack mixes over Christmas..one with pretzels, cheerios, unsalted nuts, cinnamon toast crunch, and M&Ms!

Also they made just a mix with M&Ms and roasted peanuts, and well its safe to say all the M&Ms were gone by the weekend out of both mixes and they asked who did it so the next morning I got up and bought another bag of M&Ms and replaced all the ones I ate..haha..goodtimes

The view from your walk looks so pretty! M&M’s are so addicting! I have some in my candy dish on our cocktail table and I think my boyfriend already polished them off! I can’t keep any candy on the table because he eats it first. 🙂

Her writing style is so easy to read and I can actually zone out and relax! I have an emergency bag of M&M’s stashed in my work bag….so far they have remained un opened but now you really have me thinking about them! 🙂

My rule of thumb when book shopping is “the more pink on the cover, the better (or juicer) the story.” Try Trading Up by Candice Bushnell (of SATC fame). It’s my all-time fave!

I laughed out loud at the M&M’s part! For my brother’s rehersal dinner after party we set out bowls of M&M’s as a tribute to my Grandmother who ALWAYS has a bowl at her house. Even with all the other late night snacks, the M&M’s were gobbled up first 🙂
