Arrival in Park City

January 9, 2014 by Julie 50 Comments

Hello from gorgeous Park City!photo 1 (5)

My travels from Denver to Park City weren’t exactly seamless thanks to some mechanical delays that set me back a few hours, so I didn’t arrive in Utah until after dark. Fortunately my friend Heather, who I’ve met once before at a Reebok event, and Jon, a fellow Columbia Omniten member, were on my flight from Denver to Salt Lake City, so I had some buddies to hang out with before we boarded.

Once we boarded, we sat on the run way for another two hours before we took off, but I ended up sitting next to two really interesting people so the time passed fast. One man is an avid sailor and coaches a collegiate team, so I learned a lot about a sport I previously knew next to nothing about which was really intriguing to me. The other man worked in a coal mine and freaked me out with stories that made the claustrophobic woman in me want to pass out on the spot.

By the time our plane landed in Salt Lake City, the sun was setting and Heather, Jon and I made the drive to Park City to join the rest of the group for dinner and drinks at No Name Saloon.

The group looked like one lovely little plaid family!

Everyone was really welcoming and I had fun getting to know our group while we ate and sipped on some cocktails.

We chatted away on the rooftop of the No Name Saloon which was decked out with heat lamps. I also ordered a hot toddy to help warm me up!

Columbia has been very tight-lipped whenever we’ve asked any questions about what’s in store for our group during our time in Park City, so we’re all guessing and making predictions about what the next couple of days will entail. I had to sign a bunch of waivers last night and one mentioned something about snowmobiling, so I’m hoping that’s on the agenda at some point! I can’t wait to get outside and enjoy the beautiful snow!

I’ll try to pop back in soon with more updates, but now it’s off to breakfast!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Snowmobiling?!?!? You’ll love it! My family and I are die hard snowmobilers here in PA (we go north to Tioga & Potter counties for the most snow) and it is a blast! You can go and see places that no one else can see on foot or by car…and it’s usually breathtaking! Snow covered trails, pines, deer, and views that are incredible! I hope you have a wonderful trip!

I <3 Park City!! It is our new fav ski destination due to the easy airport access! We are headed there in a couple weeks also. You must go the brewery at the "top" of main street, called Wasatch Brew Pub. Its very cool and they serve you a beer flight on a cut off snowboard 🙂 Also check out High West Distillary, very cool! And when you leave from Salt Lake you must try "Ruby Snap" for cookies, they are INSANE!!!
