Ass Grass

February 24, 2011 by Julie 121 Comments

Even though you guys know I love my poems, the title of this blog post is actually relevant to the content within this post. I wasn’t just feelin’ rhyme-happy, though I wouldn’t put that past me considering my morning blog post title.

Brace yourself for some ass grass! Surprised smile

When we arrived home from work today, Ryan and I leashed up Sadie for an evening at the dog park!

Sadie spent about three minutes sprinting about, sniffing the extra smelly spots in the park (Yay feces!) before she noticed a bright yellow frisbee stuck in a tree just begging to be used in endless rounds of fetch.

Ryan came to her rescue.

We played fetch for a good 45 minutes. Sadie typically fetches sticks or balls, so the frisbee was a new thing for her. She’s so flippin’ fast and had no trouble catching it in the air a handful of times. We were proud puppy parents.

Well, we were proud puppy parents until we noticed it.

Ass grass.

Ass. Grass.

A blade of grass literally sticking out of her ass.

How does that even happen???

I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say someone plucked the grass from her ass.

Thank goodness our dog park has bathrooms. And they have antibacterial soap. And we keep hand sanitizer in the car. And I couldn’t stop laughing.

Eventually we headed home, ready to get started on dinner. (Don’t worry, more hand washing ensued.)

Dinner

Dinner tonight was easy peasy! Just my style.

Our meal included roasted curried cauliflower and jam-packed quesadillas.

In the ‘dillas:

  • Whole wheat tortilla
  • Shredded Mexican cheese
  • Black beans
  • Sautéed onions
  • Black bean and roasted corn salsa

I used to make quesadillas all the time when I first graduated from college. I need to make these lil’ babies more often! They’re easy, tasty and a great way to jam a bunch of veggies into dinner.

Time to make some Red Hots applesauce. Tomorrow is FRIDAY!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

This is an old post that I must have missed some how, BUT I know how you feel about Ass Grass! I died laughing when I read the title bc I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about! We have had to administer some “plucking” several times with our Sadie. Its disgusting but I am NOT letting her inside like that!
