Back in Action

April 5, 2010 by Julie 22 Comments

My cake coma finally wore off before bed last night and I slept like a baby.

Mmm, Cake

I only woke up once in the night (in quite the romantic embrace with Sadie), and was ready for a good workout when the alarm went off.

Workout

Ryan and I headed to the gym and I took my typical Monday morning BodyPump class. My gym is launching the latest BodyPump release on Saturday (Yay!), so the instructor selected an easier release for us to do today. It still made me sweat!

I then completed 25 minutes of cardio on the elliptical while listening to the awesome playlist I made for Saturday’s 5k race. (Gotta love Let’s Get Loud by Jennifer Lopez!)

Breakfast

On Friday I received a free sample of a Kashi dark chocolate coconut TLC bar. I was excited to try it for breakfast today and figured it would be pretty good since I like granola bars and Kashi products for the most part.

Greek Yogurt + Kashi Bar

Monday's Breakfast

This bar was really good! The dark chocolate on top of the bar was really rich and creamy. I was thoroughly impressed and would definitely buy these again.

Kashi Dark Chocolate Coconut TLC Bar

I ate half of the bar before crumbling the other half on top of my Greek yogurt.

It was g-o-o-d.

Do you like granola bars? Any favorite brands?

I really like granola bars a lot. They were a staple in my lunches growing up and my affinity for the chewy (or crunchy!) goodness lives on!

Weekend Recap:

  • Made a bunny cake
  • Ran in a 5K race with Sadie and set a new PR
  • Made another bunny cake
  • Celebrated Easter

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I love the good old Quaker bars, but they just leave me hungry! I really like making my own. 🙂

I love Kashi everything! Their granola bars are my favorite. I like the honey almond flax chewy ones, and the pumpkin spice crunchy ones.

I got that same kashi bar in the mail and loved it! And I don’t even usually like coconut stuff. My favorite granola bars are the kashi dark chocolate mocha almond bars. Those are soooooo good!! I like the honey flax too – those are a close second.

Granola bars are perfect snacks for me! My favorites are Luna Bar’s toasted nuts and cranberry flavor and Kashi’s honey almond flax. So healthy and delicious!

I really love granola bars, but lately I’ve been staying away from them because the long list of crazy ingredients on many boxes really discourages me. I got a ton of Clif and Luna bars for Easter though, so I certainly can’t let those go to waste. 😉

Yay to your new BodyPump release. Which one will it be? 73? 73 was released in the UK just about a week ago and that is the one I am currently teaching and will be assessed on – it will make ya sweat, I promise. Great music and an awesome squat track (120 squats – whoohoo! :-))

I love those Dark Chocolate Coconut bars from Kashi but I find they’re so small! I really like the Dark Mocha Almond ones from Kashi cause they’re a bit bigger and give me some energy!
