Burrito Break

July 3, 2013 by Julie 35 Comments

Today started out with some fantastic news!

After I was done training my first client of the day, we took her measurements. She said all of her workout pants are baggy now, so I suggested we take her measurements to compare them to the measurements we took during her fitness assessment. I was so incredibly happy to tell her that she lost inches everywhere (waist, hips, thighs, biceps, and chest)! It was the best feeling and I am so happy to see her making serious progress and prioritizing her health. Before personal training, I never had a job where I worked so closely with someone one-on-one and it is so rewarding.

Lunch

During my shift, I took a quick break to eat a burrito from Chipotle that a coworker picked up for lunch in the break room.

A burrito the size of a baby!

I made it about three quarters of the way through before wrapping the rest up for later. (And I finally took a food picture in the break room! Okay, so I snapped the pic when no one was around, but I’m beginning to feel a little less awkward.)

On my way home from work, I ran a few errands. I stopped by Hobby Lobby to pick up a bunch of stuff for my latest craft project. It’s not nearly as in depth as my dad’s 60th birthday present, but I’ll be sure to share the final product with you guys when it’s done. I’m excited to get started!

Once I made it home, I dug into a cup of Greek yogurt and sat down to respond to some emails.

It’s almost the 4th of July!

Congrats to your client! That’s so exciting and great to see actual results so quickly too! That Chipotle burrito looks delicious. I make it about 2/3rds the way too and it always makes for great leftovers. 🙂

It is SO rewarding when you have a job which shows you results of your hard work. I did a pre- and post- quiz for my student teaching experience and most of my students went from getting 0 correct to all of them correct! It just makes you feel awesome to see someone improve because you helped them!

PS. Chipotle makes the biggest burritos I’ve ever seen in my life. I always feel like I’m lugging around a small child when I get one!

3/4 of a Chipotle burrito is usually the amount I can manage in one sitting. My boyfriend though? He orders a quesa-rito. It’s a burrito with a quesadilla for a wrapper! So it’s TWO tortillas, tons of melted cheese, all blanketing beef, cheese, and rice. Crazy!!

Chipotle burritos are so good! Where we moved to, we don’t have a chipotle near us. Ugh!! So upsetting. How great is it when you see your clients getting to their goals?!!

Pork, brown rice, beans, salsa and cheese. And most of the trainers and my boss know about my blog, but a lot of people work at my gym and use the breakroom who I don’t think know. 🙂

Measurements are always the best way for me to see progress too- I put on muscle pretty quickly, my fat loss and muscle growth sometimes are even, but photos and measurements tell the real story of my changes.

Wow, I feel excited for you AND your client! That’s a pretty cool and rewarding accomplishment. I get excited at the mere fact that my friends want to learn workouts from me, and if they told me they saw results in their health or weight loss that would make me ecstatic! 😀 Great job, and….chipotle burritos are huge, so I always go for the salad bowl 😛

Way to go PBF! Rewarding feelings are the best, especially when it affects not only you, but someone else!

Curious question: do you tell your other work about your blog? Like in the past when you did PR, or even the freelance work you do for other places? Or if you’re taking a bunch of pictures at a restaurant or wherever and the workers ask why?

I just know its nice to have an outlet, and a different group of “friends” (us!) so I was wondering if you share this side of your life with others! Random, but I’ve been curious! =)

That is awesome about your client’s weight loss! I hope I am able to do the same for someone else in the future that is just as rewarding!
Side note on Chipotle: Your burrito reminds of my husband’s horrible experience at Chipotle last week. We were eating there on Friday and he bit into something hard that was in the burrito and it actually chipped his tooth! I felt so bad because he had to wait until Monday to get it fixed because it was the weekend. He says he doesn’t want to ever go back but I have a feeling that won’t last very long 🙂
