Butter Beer Frozen Yogurt

June 3, 2011 by Julie 53 Comments

Though I officially left my full-time job on Wednesday, I just couldn’t stay away from my former coworkers and met up with a group of them at The Lodge downtown for happy hour this evening.

happy hour 011

I feel fortunate in that I left my job on a positive note and have received support and well wishes from everyone. It has been really nice and I hope to keep in touch with everyone and swing by the office every now and then. I’ll miss Foodie Friday too much to stay away!

Butter Beer Frozen Yogurt

After happy hour I had plans to meet up with my friend Katie for a hot date at Delish, a frozen yogurt shop located in Baldwin Park.

We decided to meet there because I told her about the Harry Potter-esque butter beer frozen yogurt I tried at Delish last Sunday and she was very intrigued… And rightfully so!

I filled my cup with a combination of butter beer, cake batter and strawberry frozen yogurt and topped it with Butterfinger pieces, granola, yogurt pretzels and mini marshmallows. The marshmallows were the same kind of little marshmallows found in packets of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and I was in love!

I swear every single time I eat frozen yogurt, my love for the creamy dessert is further strengthened.

Cookie Time

The rest of this happenin’ Friday night will be spent baking cookies! I was bit by the baking bug and couldn’t say no.

Man, I am craving frozen yogurt now. I wish we had a place that offered awesome toppings here but we don’t. When I went to Hawaii I made sure to stop at Pink Berry in the airport. Loved it!

The frozen yogurt looks AMAZING! I’ve noticed you usually pick more than one flavor…do you mix them together or do you keep them separate and eat them individually?

a bit of both actually! i eat the majority separately, but the last five bites or so all mixed up!

I think I’m about to ask a dumb question…what flavor is butter beer? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it…does it have something to do with harry potter? Never read/saw it! Strange I know:)

i would describe it like a butter pecan flavor. it’s amazing! and yes, it’s from harry potter. it was a drink they drank in the books and movies. 🙂

Haaa what a fun day! I can’t imagine what that butter beer froyo tastes like… how would you describe it?? Also, sooo random, but do you double-up on your froyo cups? I noticed that you did that when you got froyo another time… or maybe it’s just the cups from that particular place!? I know, such a weird observation 🙂

The friends I have made at my current job really are the best parts of work. My job brought me back in touch with a high school buddy and we are now much closer then we were in high school.

I love frozen yogurt. Never thought I would. However, I can’t eat it too often, a lactose issue. This place by work has a cheesecake flavor. So worth the upset tummy.
