Celebrate with Shakes

July 25, 2011 by Julie 63 Comments

Ryan’s first day at his new job went well!

Of course we had to celebrate and what better way for this ice cream lovin’ duo to celebrate than with cookies ‘n’ cream shakes!?

We picked up these Edy’s cookies ‘n’ cream shakes from Publix after they caught Ryan’s eye.

You simply add a splash of milk to the container and stir and you’re all set!

They were surprisingly delicious! And no blender was needed. I was also surprised to see that each shake had less than 300 calories. That is basically unheard of when it comes to milkshakes!

Our shakes were enjoyed after dinner.

When Ryan got home from work, we sat down to a complimentary dinner offered by the hotel where we’re staying.

I made myself a salad from the salad bar and topped it with pepper steak and enjoyed it alongside some coleslaw.

The steak was really chewy and fatty, but I ate it all anyway. Just thinking back about this meal kind of makes me feel a little nauseous. Not really a good sign, huh?

I also ate a small bowl of croutons (they were so garlicy and delicious!) and some rice pilaf that went undocumented.

The shakes were clearly the highlight of the evening for us!

Another highlight? The Bachelorette!!! It’s on in five minutes, so it’s time for me to crawl into the big, comfy hotel bed and indulge my girly reality show lovin’ self.

Woah, that is such an awesome invention! A looong time ago Kool-Aid came out with slushies that you mixed up, popped in the freezer, and an hour later enjoyed your slushie. However, I don’t really want to think about what was in those things…eww. 😉

    Way to go, Ryan!

I have to watch The Bachelorette tonight—the destination dates get me every time. Note to self: become the next Bachelorette so you can get a free trip to Fiji. Done.

Ugh I hate when I eat meals that weren’t worth it. It seems like such a waste when there are so many other things I adore. I’m glad that the milkshakes made up for it though! They look delicious!

Eh, yeah- it’s never a good sign when just thinking about your din makes you nauseous.. Those shakes sound great though! I’ve had the biggest craving for fro-yo lately actually, which is a huge bummer because i’ve been trying to stay away from dairy this month (participating – for kicks- in this Paleo eating challeng, which means zero dairy or grains).
