College Days Way

April 16, 2011 by Julie 63 Comments

Well, all plans to hike or get out of the house today fell through until 4 p.m.

Ryan, Ross and I spent the day wasting away with Sadie and Kona (Ross’ chocolate lab) like five bumps on a log.

IMG_1138

We watched Inception, ate burritos and had a great time acting like a bunch of hungover college kids for the day. Well, technically Ross is in his final year of law school, so he is still a student.

Ryan and Ross also spent some time planning their upcoming hiking trip and trying out some gear.

IMG_1140

Sadie wanted in!

While the boys planned their trip, I did some baking and made some granola bars in mini loaf pans.

IMG_1146

They tasted great, but didn’t really hold together. My granola bars were more like plain granola in the end.

Eventually we channeled some motivation to remove our butts from the couch and head to the dog park for an hour of puppy playtime with Sadie and Kona.

DSC_0612

Remember puppy Kona? Hasn’t she turned into the most beautiful dog?

DSC_0608

Kona has mad fetch skills. She managed to fetch both a ball and a frisbee at one time! DSC_0601

Sadie also has some skills… but they involve fetching and dropping the ball a good 500 feet from where you actually want it.

DSC_0584

After our time at the dog park, our little gang came home and we all showered before heading back out to Baldwin Park to meet up with some friends for sushi at Seito.

High ponytail + headband = Guess who definitely didn’t wash her hair today? Winking smile

Once we arrived, Ryan and I ordered garlic and lime edamame to share while we perused the menu.

I also had a cup of miso soup while waiting for our entrées.

Ryan and I decided to share a bunch of different items from the menu as our main course, including a rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll and teriyaki chicken.

Everything was excellent.

After dinner, Ryan, Ross, Merri and I decided to run into Publix for a little treat…

Everyone was craving cookies and cream milkshakes (myself included), but since I gave up sweets (more like desserts) for Lent, I had to abstain. When Ross, Ryan, Merri and I arrived back at our apartment, they enjoyed their shakes while I enjoyed two hot Pillsbury cinnamon rolls (a breakfast food, not a sweet in my opinion)! They were fantastic and perfectly doughy.

I’m typing this post from my bed and my eyes are about to close. It’s time to sleep! Goodnight!

P.S. The Fashion page was updated this evening!

I was going to comment on how adorable the puppies were and then I got totally distracted by your orange shorts! So cute! Mind sharing where they’re from?

I love edamame but I’ve never seen a gussied up option; garlic and lime sounds great.

I loveeee that white shirt you are wearing! So cute. I’m jealous of your tan lines, haha. It’s about time I start workin’ on my tan but NYC seems to want to stay cold all the time.

garlic + lime edamame? Yum! 🙂

Just a quick question!? Do you ever have those days where you go like WAYY over your calorie limits, like in the 3000? Do you care if its just one day?

BTW! You are so beautiful! I LOVED the black dress from this morning and your orange shorts!

I think you look good in shorts, even if you don’t think so! 🙂

2ndly, LOVE sportin the high pony + headband too on my lazy (aka non-washing) hair days too! You look super cute w/it!

Lastly, looks like you had a great weekend. It’s fun to relive the “college” days every so often … but now that’s it’s Sunday, that means tomorrow’s Monday … back to the real world! Ugh! Haha 🙂

Looks like you had a great day!! Lazy days are the best sometimes! I love Sadie she’s too cute!! My dog Daisy, she’s a boxer, has fetching problems too. She will run and get the ball and even bring it back, but she won’t drop the ball. She likes to play tug-o-war with it unless we act like we don’t want it then she’ll drop it. It’s hilarious!!

Love the hair and outfit of course, as well as everyone else 😉

& I love Publix ice cream..I honestly think it is better than real name brand stuff. SO good! After Lent, you should try the blueberry crumble ice cream (I think that’s what it’s called- it’s actually light ice cream, but you would never know..it’s sooo good! huge hunks of blueberries & graham cracker crusts chunks..YUM)

Hmm I’d consider a milkshake to be better than a cinnamon roll personally lol. At least there are nutrients like protein and calcium! But whatever wets your noodle. Love the ponytail/headband look! Looks fun and relaxed.

Haaaa i love that I’m not the only one who needs time to recoup after a big night out. Last night we had a celebratory night (i just got accepted to the 2nd best public health school in the country!) and had wayyyyyy to much fun (aaaahem, alcohol) out on the town. I know i know, so ironic seeing as I’m pursuing public health… but do as I say, not as I do… right? I was on the couch til 1PM! At least i didn’t have to work today 🙂
