Cyber Monday Savings

November 26, 2012 by Julie 68 Comments

Good afternoon!

Have any of you guys taken advantage of Cyber Monday savings today? I bought Ryan one little stocking stuffer and got free shipping. Not exactly the kind of savings you write home about, but I’ll take it!

Fun fact: Shoppers are expected to spend more than $1.5 billion dollars today. Yeesh.

I spent my morning catching up on work before taking a break to eat lunch and browse the internet for Cyber Monday deals.

chicken salad with corn and avocado

Today’s lunchtime salad included:

  • Spring mix
  • 1 ear raw sweet corn
  • 1/2 avocado
  • Shredded carrot
  • Leftover chicken
  • Bolthouse Farms yogurt Caesar dressing

My goodness this was a good salad! The avocado and corn stole the show.

Question of the Afternoon

  • Do you take advantage of sales on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
  • Did you find any good deals today? Please share!

I’ve done the whole Black Friday shopping thing a few times but prefer to look for good deals from the comfort of my own home on Cyber Monday. Less lines and less craziness!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I spent way too much time shopping this weekend. I’m so over it. But my mom enjoys it so I go to keep her company.

I think that sounds like a great deal, Julie! I don’t have any sisters, but I do have a cousin who is my same age and we’re really close … she’s always hard to shop for because I want to get her something special, but at the same time we’ve been buying presents for each other our whole lives so a lot of options have already been done! I might go check out the Kate Spade website too… 🙂

I bought my boyfriend a “nap sack” from Poler Stuff. It’s a wearable sleeping bag that has holes for your feet and arms… So very random, but it looks even more comfy then a snuggie. He’s been hinting at it for a while – I’m stoked they had a sale!

This year was the first time I’ve ever gone Black Friday shopping–I don’t want to brave the craziness, and I love sleep way too much. I went out around dinnertime though, and found three pairs of really nice jeans from American Eagle for $50 total! Which, coming from a poor college student who gets the majority of her wardrobe from thrift store finds, that’s saying something. Oh, and on JCrew factory, they also have 50% off storewide, which is pretty impressive…although I guess they start out about 50% overpriced as it is, so take that with a grain of salt haha.

I did my first Cyber Monday shopping today! I got a decent discount on an Etsy present for my sister, which inspired me to find something on Etsy for my mom as well. The second item wasn’t discounted, but I probably wouldn’t have been online shopping in the first place if it hadn’t been for Cyber Monday. (I also definitely bought myself a pair of shoes at a different website earlier today…oops).

Glad I bought last night instead of this morning! This is the first year I’ve actually bought a lot of presents online, which is kinda of strange. I’m a little disappointed with the Cyber Monday deals this year! Nothing too exciting…but I know of a deal that is near and dear to my heart, so excuse this shameless little advert.

My sister’s nonprofit, Athena’s Warehouse, is selling these cute t-shirts, and for Cyber Monday, the shirts are $5 and an additional $5 will be donated from The Sales Management Association for every shirt sold. They’re really cute and soft Alternative Apparel shirts with an owl screenprint. You should check it out and spread the word if you like the shirts 🙂

I bought some of my favorite protein powder from bodybuilding.com for 20% off (nothing huge, but it was much cheaper than usual!). Other than that, I honestly didn’t see too much I was interested in either. JCrew Factory had a 50% off sale, but the sweater I’d been eying sold out! Oh well. I ended up getting like 75% of my Christmas shopping done between Black Friday and today anyway, which is still a score in my book.

Also eye candied some Henri Bendel bags (30% off everything code cyber12). I actually really loved a few Talbot skirts online (50% off first full priced item, no minimum) but there were super slim pickings w sizes. I prefer Internet shopping over in store!

I worked a 12 hour shift at our local mall this year from 11 pm on Thursday until 10 am Friday morning. It was my first experience with black Friday and it was awful. People are like animals and I will boycott Black Friday from now on. It starts earlier and earlier every year and people are losing site of what the holidays are actually about.
