Good morning! I hope you guys are enjoying a fabulous weekend!
Between the SHINE Women’s Conference on Thursday and Friday and my AFAA Group Exercise Certification course yesterday, I feel like I haven’t had much computer time with you guys! Friday was the final day of SHINE and we all agreed that it was fabulous. On Thursday night they opened with “Oh Happy Day!” and I basically freaked out. That song is so fabulous.
SHINE was the first Christian women’s conference I’ve ever attended and I have only good things to say about it. I am still very much growing in my personal journey and am glad I was able to attend the conference with my mom and sister and my sister’s boyfriend’s mom and sister. We had such a warm group and I loved listening to the various speakers with such kind, loving women.
Yesterday I spent the day at an AFAA Group Exercise Certification workshop and will know the results from the practical and written exams within four to six weeks. I think it went really well and I’ll be sure to share more about the experience on the blog soon.
And now I have something to share with you guys that I think many of you will enjoy, especially those of you who are on the go a lot, don’t have a gym membership or prefer to work out at home.
FitnessGlo
In between the conference sessions on Friday, we had a two-hour break and since were all feeling a little antsy from sitting for most of the day, we decided to do an at-home workout. I plugged my computer into the television and my sister and I spent some time on the FitnessGlo website selecting a workout we thought we all might enjoy from the various videos available on the site.
I first learned about FitnessGlo through a partnership with FitFluential and was immediately impressed with the workout videos on the site. There are tons! (Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are 100 percent my own. I loved this site!)
FitnessGlo is a website created for women by women with busy women in mind. The website features workout videos with varying intensities from level one (On My Way) to level three (Good to Glo). Their videos last anywhere from five to 45 minutes, so they’re perfect for on-the-go women who might only have a small amount of time to squeeze in a quick workout before work.
We decided to try Ilyse Baker’s barre workout because I already knew I liked her teaching style since I’ve taken a dance class with her before at the Reebok headquarters last year.
Her energy is contagious without being annoying. She’s motivating but lets you know she’s feeling the burn, too!
The workout lasted 30 minutes and we were engaged the entire time.
We started sweating and definitely felt the burn! My sister and I liked it so much that we decided to try another 30-minute video immediately after the barre workout. We selected Amy Dixon’s Cardio Athletic workout which included lots of intervals. It was right up my alley!
I loved the format of the workout and the way Amy took us through several exercises for 30, 60 and 90 second bursts of intense cardio. My sister and I were super sweaty by the end of this workout! Amy was awesome… and kind of looks like Laura Prepon from That ‘70s Show to me a little bit! I’m also hoping to pitch a similar class to my boss at the gym because I think it could be a hit in a group exercise format.
The site makes it easy to sort through videos by duration, workout type, instructor and level.
If you need a little push to start your routine, FitnessGlo offers an 8-week customized jump-start program and ways to track your workouts and make sure your routine includes a balance of strength, cardio and stretching.
Access to the FitessGlo website costs $12 a month, but anyone can receive a free 15-day trial. And one of you will win a free 90-day membership!
To enter this giveaway for a free 90-day FitnessGlo membership, simply comment on this post telling me why you are looking for a great at-home workout option or what type of workout video you’d be most excited to try. Barre? Core strength? Cardio dance? Let me know!
I will randomly select one winner on Monday.
Good luck!
I’m temporarily sidelined from running with an injury so I’m looking for new ways to stay strong until I can run again. This would be perfect timing!
I am heading home from college for the summer and won’t have access to a gym so I would love to have new workouts that I can do at home!
I have kids and would love to have a good at home workout to do while they are sleeping. The cardio interval one looks great. All of them sound great!
I’m looking for great at home workouts because I travel all the time for work–so I’m constantly living out of hotels and joining a gym is not practical since I’m never in the same place longer than a few weeks. At home workouts are easy for traveling because they use little to no equipment which makes it easy to do regardless of the quality of the hotel gym
im looking for an at home option as im a student so i cant afford the gyms, or a car to get anywhere! i really want to incorporate more strength exercises into my workouts but i don’t know where to begin and find it much more difficult to find motivation to do this than going on runs so i would love to use this to do that!
I’ve been trying to lose the rest of my baby weight since my son turned 8 weeks and it’s been tough to find the time (or energy!) to run or hit the elliptical with a 3 month old in tow. This sounds like a great way to fit in new workouts to keep motivated.
I would like to try Barre and also the interval training. I am always looking for great workouts.
Ooh I’ve heard of this! Definitely right up my alley; with a really busy year, I’ve been working out in my home 70% if the time. I like variety, so I’d probably make good use of different types.
would love to try barre!!
i would love to try more at-home workouts now that it is already becoming too hot to workout outside! i’d love to try out the barre classes or cardio-focused workouts!
I feel like I’m currently in a workout slump, and would love some more variety. Cardio dance sounds FUN, and I totally need to bring the fun back into workouts!!
I would love to try the core workouts. My boyfriend works from home and we love working out together but I run out of ideas of new things to do in the living room!
Oh this sounds so fun! I just got a new puppy so between my husband and I we need to do more home workouts so puppy’s not alone so much at night. I have bought a few workout DVDs but this site sounds like it has tons of variety!
I want to try the barre workouts, I have heard they are awesome! We don’t have anywhere to take classes in my area, and being a university grad I have no $$ to pay for it if there was a local studio 😉
I need something to switch up my routine. This website sounds perfect!
I would love to try the cardio workouts….living in south alabama it gets too hot to run outside in the summer time! I always love a good motivating workout!
Barre! I’ve been dying to try it & switch up my fitness routine a little bit 🙂
Dumb question of three day: how did you hook it up to your TV?!
I’m looking for an at-home workout because I travel a lot and want to learn how to work out when running isn’t an option.
I currently work out at home and think FitnessGlo would be a great addition to help me reach my fitness goals. Plus, trying cardio dance sounds fun!! 🙂
I have heard good things about the barre workouts. Since I don’t currently have a gym membership, a great at-home workout would be very motivating!
I love cardio, but I’m struggling to find a balance in my life for strength training, core work and trying new workouts like barre or dance type workouts. This website sounds like an excellent resource!
I would LOVE to try a Barre workout since I am interested in attending Barre classes, but would like to know what to expect before signing up.
I’d love to have so many workout options without having to drive to the gym
I am always on the go, so I sometimes don’t have time to visit my gym. Being able to workout in my home would be AMAZING. One of my personal goals is to incorporate more cardio, so that’s what I would target first!
I’d love to try one of the Barre videos!
I travel all the time for work, so I’m always looking for ways to workout without a gym. This looks like a great alternative to a gym.
My schedule recently changed and it has been very hard to find time to squeeze in a workout. Looks like a great site!
I’d love to try the Barre workouts
The online videos seem right up my alley! I don’t have a gym membership so I’m always looking for new things to try out at home. The cardio circuits sound really intriguing!
I’d love to try! thank you)
Oh my gosh! I’m traveling all the time recently and rarely am able to get to a gym which I’ve been feeling guilty about. This would be so perfect for me to be able to squeeze in some exercise while I’m on the go! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! And I would looove to try a barre workout, I’ve been hearing such amazing things about them!
I’d love to try this. I’m just in an overall workout slut. I just did a triathlon and have had little desire to work out since then!
with a new traveling job I am struggling to find a way to workout on the road. This seems like a perfect way to pull up a workout in my hotel room!
I’ll be working at a camp all summer and while I wI’ll be more active than usual on a daily basis, I’m going to miss getting in a daily workout at the gym. This sounds like a great tool to keep me motivated thoughout the summer!
I love to workout at home! This would be awesome to be able to switch up workouts! I really want to try the barre!!
Workout videos are my favorite!! I have tons, but I have don them all a thousand times so I would love this to mix it up 🙂
I just started a new job and having a hard time fitting in a workout because it takes some time to plan or find workouts that I can do at home. This would be so helpful, so I can wake up and do the workout right from home, or fit in a small workout after work! I was looking for something exactly like this! I would be so excited to try the barre workouts!
I would love to have an at-home video to use at home because I’m a treadmill runner and it’s always fun to change it up. Would love to test out the cardio dance! By the looks of your pics, it’s a lot of fun too!
I spend about 8 months in TX and the rest in NY and it has been so difficult maintaining two gym memberships/putting them on hold that I recently canceled both. I would LOVE to try the barre classes because I do not have access to a studio where I live (very small town).
I live in London and gym memberships cost at least $110 a month. I love classes but it is difficult to justify spending that much money when I can do it at home for much cheaper. This would be perfect for me!
I am in my first trimester or pregnancy and my cross fit gym has gotten a little intense for me. I would love to try this site to find some lower intensity options – maybe cardio dance or beginner level barre.
I’m going to be traveling all summer without a gym membership — this would be so helpful!
I would love to try a quick barre workout before work in the mornings!
I live in Texas, so I’m always looking for new ways to workout inside during the summer. Running outside when it’s a humid 105 degrees just isn’t going to happen, and the treadmill gets boring after awhile. I would love to mix up my workout routine to help me get toned for my upcoming wedding!
I’d be excited to try the barre videos!
This looks awesome! Core strength is always needed, but I love interval training too! Its fun and time goes by so quickly!
I love at home workouts, it’s how I’ve lost the baby weight and have a little me time during baby’s nap. I love cardio circuit workouts that include some strength.
I’d love to try the barre class. I’ve heard amazing things about them but none are offered around where I live.
I am really interested in trying a lot of different workouts. I think I’m going to sign up for the free trial today! First workout… barre maybe??
I’m a medical student, and I start clinical rotations in June, which means all my time will be consumed at the hospital and can no longer attend the fitness classes I’ve been going to. I would love to be able to do a quick work out at home before I head to bed in the evenings because I know squeezing in a workout after a long shift or call at the hospital will be tough!
Would love to try Barre!
