Good morning! I hope you guys are enjoying a fabulous weekend!

Between the SHINE Women’s Conference on Thursday and Friday and my AFAA Group Exercise Certification course yesterday, I feel like I haven’t had much computer time with you guys! Friday was the final day of SHINE and we all agreed that it was fabulous. On Thursday night they opened with “Oh Happy Day!” and I basically freaked out. That song is so fabulous.

SHINE was the first Christian women’s conference I’ve ever attended and I have only good things to say about it. I am still very much growing in my personal journey and am glad I was able to attend the conference with my mom and sister and my sister’s boyfriend’s mom and sister. We had such a warm group and I loved listening to the various speakers with such kind, loving women.

Yesterday I spent the day at an AFAA Group Exercise Certification workshop and will know the results from the practical and written exams within four to six weeks. I think it went really well and I’ll be sure to share more about the experience on the blog soon.

And now I have something to share with you guys that I think many of you will  enjoy, especially those of you who are on the go a lot, don’t have a gym membership or prefer to work out at home.

FitnessGlo

In between the conference sessions on Friday, we had a two-hour break and since were all feeling a little antsy from sitting for most of the day, we decided to do an at-home workout. I plugged my computer into the television and my sister and I spent some time on the FitnessGlo website selecting a workout we thought we all might enjoy from the various videos available on the site.

I first learned about FitnessGlo through a partnership with FitFluential and was immediately impressed with the workout videos on the site. There are tons! (Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are 100 percent my own. I loved this site!)

FitnessGlo is a website created for women by women with busy women in mind. The website features workout videos with varying intensities from level one (On My Way) to level three (Good to Glo). Their videos last anywhere from five to 45 minutes, so they’re perfect for on-the-go women who might only have a small amount of time to squeeze in a quick workout before work.

We decided to try Ilyse Baker’s barre workout because I already knew I liked her teaching style since I’ve taken a dance class with her before at the Reebok headquarters last year.

Her energy is contagious without being annoying. She’s motivating but lets you know she’s feeling the burn, too!

The workout lasted 30 minutes and we were engaged the entire time.

We started sweating and definitely felt the burn! My sister and I liked it so much that we decided to try another 30-minute video immediately after the barre workout. We selected Amy Dixon’s Cardio Athletic workout which included lots of intervals. It was right up my alley!

I loved the format of the workout and the way Amy took us through several exercises for 30, 60 and 90 second bursts of intense cardio. My sister and I were super sweaty by the end of this workout! Amy was awesome… and kind of looks like Laura Prepon from That ‘70s Show to me a little bit! I’m also hoping to pitch a similar class to my boss at the gym because I think it could be a hit in a group exercise format. 

The site makes it easy to sort through videos by duration, workout type, instructor and level.

    I love Amy Dixon! She used to do some free on-demand fitness videos on my cable system and I loved her stuff. She is totally fun. There are so many fitness things out there that are free…but knowing that I like her style already, makes me want to try this! And, on what type of fitness thing to try at home – I would like to try Barre, I hear about it – but not sure what it is. I love a new at-home thing to add!

    We’ve been self-employed(website design)for 7 years and I need to commit to an at-home program. I need cardio, stretching and strength to augment regular walking.

    I’ve had a hard time fitting exercise in, since my daughter was born 15 months ago. I work full time, so I feel like at-home workouts are my best option right now (I can workout once she goes to sleep!) I would love to try a barre workout!

    I would love to try out these new barre workouts! I work long hours everyday and my gym is in the opposite direction from my work, so this would be awesome to do when I get home! 🙂

    I can’t afford a gym membership and with 3 kids I would love to be able to find a good workout routine to do at home. I’m usually looking for core strength type workouts! 🙂

    I have been looking into home workout options since my new schedule forces me to get up early and to get a workout in. I also recently have had to give up running due to an injury and I am on the hunt for low-impact workouts. I’d love to check it out!

    I would LOVE a 90 day membership, as I have just begun working from home and have a hard time justifying a drive to the gym now. I really miss going to classes and would LOVE to try a barre class, though I do love intervals!

    Cardio dance would be awesome!! I have a “phobia” of working out at the gym so always looking for new and fun workouts to try at home. It can be boring and difficult, but this website sounds fantastic!

    My husband works crazy hours often and it’s hard to coordinate dinner, the gym, and spending time with him during the Monday-Friday part of the week. Having an at home workout option (especially if it was cardio dance!) would be a huge blessing!

    Now that I’m a Mom, I find that I need to be creative to fit exercise into my day- which means a lot of time figuring out how to get a great workout in my office on lunch. This site seems like something I should look into!

    In about a month and a half I will have a brand new baby and will need to get my booty back in gear. But heading to the gym will be a challenge. This would be a great way to get in a workout at home! Thanks for sharing this site!

    Hey! I live in Jacksonville, FL and follow your blog. I went to SHINE last year and loved it but unfortunately wasn’t able to make it this year! Hope you had a great experience. Thanks for all the yummy recipes, great workouts, and motivation! Keep up the great work 🙂

    I have a new baby and have been trying to figure out how to add some at home workouts. Mornings are busy at our house so the gym is tough and I don’t want to go after work and miss out on quality baby time.

    My husband and I have different schedules so getting up early to workout isn’t always a possibility and hitting the gym in rush hour sucks- obviously I prefer at home workouts and FitnessGlo seems like a really fun option!

    FitnessGlo is perfect for me. I just moved back to Palm Springs, California from Vancouver, BC, and the heat combined with lack of quality gyms makes it hard to get a good workout. My workouts now consist of the Dreadmill or at home circuits, which I love – but having FitnessGlo would add variety and a bit of interaction to my home workouts! Excited for new cardio options!

    I love workout videos that are no more than 20 minutes in length because I can pop my daughter into the highchair with a snack and get some cardio in. I’m super intrigued by the barre workouts!

    I prefer working out at home and am definitely on the beginner level when it comes to exercise (but I very much want that to change!) This would be a great addition to motivate me and get me moving!

    Oh man this sounds awesome! Even if I’m not selected for the free membership I’ll probably still sign up, because 95% of the time I work out is at home and I’m looking for something new. That Cardio Athletic interval workout you tried is something I would be interested in!

    I had never heard of FitnessGlo before, this sounds great. I have a constantly-changing work schedule so it’s tough to get to the gym for specific classes on a regular basis. With this, I can still get the benefits of a guided class without having to speed to the gym.

    I just started doing barre and I am obsessed! I’d love to see how other instructors teach it.

    I’d love a free membership and will end up doing the free trial for sure if I don’t win. I just let my gym membership lapse instead of renewing this month because I prefer to work out outside this time of year, but it’s still great to have a variety of indoor options as well. Plus I travel for work a lot and these sound like perfect hotel room workouts!

    I would love to win the membership! I tend to try and switch up my workouts weekly (I get into a rut very easily), and this seems like a great outlet to try some new workouts, and especially get more into morning workouts, something I’m really hoping to accomplish

    I am trying to get in shape for my upcoming wedding, and recently dropped my gym membership for financial reasons. While there are great free videos out there, Fitness Glo seems like a really awesome way to work out and keep track of what you’re doing.
