Five: A Random Blog Survey

January 28, 2016 by Julie 75 Comments

Super random blog post coming your way today!

I got the idea for this blog post on Sunday when Ryan and I were hanging out on the couch chatting about travel plans for the year. We are really hoping to plan a family vacation within the next few months but our destination is totally up in the air. We came up with a list of about 10 places we’re dying to go that might work with a baby and I thought I could morph that conversation into a blog post focusing on the number five (because 10 is a little long for this type of thing)!

FIVE - A Random Blog Survey

It’s a survey-esque blog post and I’d love for you to pick a few categories to share your “top fives” in the comments section.

Happy Thursday!

Five: A Random Blog Survey

  • Five Places I’m Dying to Visit

Alaska

Alaska (to see whales in the wild)

Australia (to scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef)

Napa Valley/Sonoma (one day in the future… when we’re okay with leaving Chase for a bit)

Olympic National Park (dying to visit the Pacific Northwest with Ryan!)

Yellowstone National Park (okay, basically any National Park…)

  • Five Foods I Eat Every Day

Oatmeal

Eggs

Peanut Butter or Almond Butter

Sweet Potatoes

Apples

  • Five Talents I Wish I Had

  • Five Healthy Food Bloggers I Wish Would Cook For Me Every Day

Chicken Fajitas

Kristin from Iowa Girl Eats

Brittany from Eating Bird Food

Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean

Brittany from A Healthy Slice of Life

Gina from SkinnyTaste

  • Five Instagram Accounts I Love

Best Instagram Accounts

TheDogist (Gorgeous photos of different kinds of dogs, typically shot along the streets of NYC)

HilariousBabies (This one cracks me up)

BethWilliamsFitness (One of my favorite BBC trainers’ new fitness account)

Tank.Sinatra (A hilariously inappropriate account)

JulesHough (She could not be any cuter)

  • Five Things I Wear (Almost) Every Day

Bombas Ankle Socks

Leggings

UGG Slippers

Bombas ankle socks or Fabletics no-show socks

Fabletics no-show underwear/thongs

Headbands (SparklySoul, BicBands <— Both are great for working out and don’t slip!)

Cocktails acappella

Shark In The Water by The Cocktails (My all-time favorite a cappella remake)

Water Under The Bridge by Adele (The most beautiful voice)

Valerie by Amy Winehouse (So catchy)

Ugly Heart by GRL (An upbeat BodyPump song discovery)

  • Five Beauty Products I Use Every Day

Beauty Favorites

Rosehip Oil (I use this obsessively. Stay tuned for a post all about this stuff because I’ve been receiving emails from you guys daily with questions about how I use it. It’s without a doubt my favorite beauty discovery from 2015!)

EOS Lip Balm

TheBalm Stainiac Lip Stain (I initially received this as a sample in one of my Birchbox mailings and fell in LOVE. Now it’s something I use to give my lips a hint of color every day. You can keep it light or layer the color for a richer look. It’s the best!)

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

13 Hours by Mitchell Zuckoff

The Boss Baby by Marla Frazee (We actually read this one during library story time on Monday but I’m sharing it here because it was hilarious. It is a great baby book that new parents will appreciate as it makes light of some of the harder parts of parenting a new baby. I also think this would be a great baby shower gift!)

Hands Free Mama by Rachel Macy Stafford

A Mom’s Practical Guide to Baby-Led Weaning by Brittany Dixon

  • Five Random Things I Ate Yesterday

After you fly you must definitely do a post about how it went and with tips. We’re flying for the first time with a baby next month and I’ve been researching up a storm!

My baby is a few weeks older than Chase and we’ve been doing BLW for about a month now. We love it! It’s easier than pureeing, she just eats what we eat, no salt or sugar. I can already see a difference in her fine motor skills and she’s loved everything she’s tried so far. Frozen broccoli and green beans are great for teething too!

This is so cute! I might have to do something like this – giving you credit – if you don’t mind. Napa is stunning (but there would’ve been more I could do if I were legal…), and I so wish I could sing and dance.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy these posts, I was too busy to comment last week. Super fun to read! I’ll play along belatedly with movies I could watch repeatedly (there are so many to choose from, honestly): When Harry Met Sally, The Shawshank Redemption, Sense and Sensibility, the Shrek movies, and so many others but a recent fave is We’re The Millers. I also watch Elf repeatedly! Ditto HP movies! And all your choices were good ones! Star Trek 2009 (yes, I like historical movies, prison movies, cartoons, musicals, comedy, action, and sci fi! I’m kind of into all genres.)

Come to Australia and you’ll hit your whole list in one go! Great Barrier Reef, beautiful national parks, gorgeous wine regions and whales galore. We see them migrating north and then south again every year, i live on the coast and you can spot them from the beach. Ps we also have great
    coffee 🙂
