Taking care of some blog business, I wanted to let you guys know that I took some time to update the Travel page today!

Lunch
Lunch today was a bit painful to eat with my sensitive tooth, but it was tasty, so I guess that’s worth a little pain, right?
I made myself a MorningStar Farms California Turk’y Burger topped with ketchup, mustard, relish and tomato slices.
Roasted zucchini and a stick of string cheese served as my sides.
I roasted the zucchini slices in a 450-degree oven for about 15 minutes after tossing them in a bit of olive oil and seasoned salt. They were delicious!
Guys’ Favorite Outfits
This morning when I was catching up on headlines on MSN’s website, I clicked on a link to a slideshow detailing “17 Outfits Ideas Guys Love.” I typically find articles like that a bit frivolous and silly, but for some reason I clicked on the article this morning and just had to laugh at the following comment from “Chris.”
Really? I would bet $5,000 that Ryan has never heard of YSL or Alexander Wang. I don’t even know who Alexander Wang is, actually!
I then started to think about what outfits of mine I think Ryan likes best. I had to laugh to myself when I realized that he compliments me most when I’m in my pajamas, nasty gym clothes or loungewear. Perhaps that’s because that’s what he sees me in most frequently and Ryan is a pretty low maintenance guy. He says he likes my hair up best and always seems to gravitate toward a laid back look which is fine by me.
I’ve previously talked with my sister and girlfriends who say their boyfriends/husbands love certain looks best and thought it might be fun to share what outfit or look your partner (or ex-partner!) seems to like best.

I would have to agree. I get wolf whistles every time I get dressed or undressed.
hahaha i don’t know who that wang fella is, either. marshall likes me best in my PJs/gym clothes, too.. he mainly compliments my actual features (muscles, hair, eyes) not what i am wearing.
yeah ryan’s compliments are more like that too, come to think of it! he doesn’t seem to notice actual clothes or accessories much!
My hubs actually loves it when I dress more conservatively, but still wearing something sleek, like a red or purple fitted sweater (guys like the vibrant colors!) with some nice dress pants and a sexy pair of heels.
But–oddly enough–he also thinks it’s cute when I’m running around the house wearing a big fuzzy bathrobe because I’m cold!!
i am waiting for the day ryan compliments me when i’m wearing my floor-length bathrobe. 🙂
same thing – my boy likes me to dress conservative sexy when we’re out but LOVES my red monogrammed robe, which he refers to as my ‘wasp robe’

After I realized how much I love wearing robes around the house in the winter, I went out and bought about four in different colors–so I can still pretend I’m being stylish!!

But for real, my husband does like when I wear a certain pair of jeans, he also likes a certain dress with some boots I have, and he really likes when I wear my hair down and my bangs cut across my face. But really, he is low maintanence and “says” I always look great. 😉

I looove relish!! Thats so smart to put it on a burger (fake or real!). I didn’t know they made Turk’y ones. I’ve got to try those.
As for outfits that make my boyman tick… usually its something blue with either stripes or pattern. He likes really feminine things which surprised me when I realized it! Unfortunately, not so much the gym clothes LOL
Interesting! My husband definitely likes it when I look “together” ie have just gotten a hair cut or done my hair nicely (it is a odd wavy curly combo otherwise) and when I am wearing non-crappy clothes. Since I work in a lab, he doesn’t experience either of those things very often, so maybe it is the novelty he likes?
I’ve gotten compliments when I wear dressy (but short!) shorts! They show off my butt and legs. Yoga pants have also always gotten me plenty of affectionate grabs from my partners.
Every time I wear yoga pants my boyfriend chases me around all day!! haha
Also, I agree whoever it was that said guys like vibrant colors! Blue, red, purple definitely.
That was me! I also heard red is the biggest turn-on color for guys…
And you know, honestly now that I think about it, my husband tends to think EVERYTHING looks good on me–at least that’s what he tells me! He ALSO has brown eyes, which we say is proof that he is completely full of you-know-what sometimes. But all his compliments do get the desired effects with me! 😉
Workout clothes and a pony tail (<–the key) with NO eye makeup. We work opposite hours and he NEVER sees me looking nice!! (Or apparently what I think is nice??)
I hope your tooth feels better! 🙂 My fiance seems to like when I dress up and wear something that shows my figure. He really likes me in black for some reason. He also likes me when I look like a slob in my pjs. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.
My boyfriend doesn’t really compliment my outfits. He tells me he likes it when I wear my hair back and the most times he has told me I am pretty is first thing in the morning when we wake up.
My husband loves when I wear anything bright blue. I love how he looks in a suit. 🙂
Hmmm…I’m not sure what he likes best, but two things he hates are flip flops and riding boots. Probably my top two favorite kinds of footwear!!
He actually loves a plain fitted tshirt, jeans and cowboy boots or heels . However, I do tend to give him a Look when he tells me I look adorable in gym clothes or pajamas with no makeup. He swears he is being serious though. He’s so low maintenance. I love it!
That’s so funny you say that…I get the most compliments from my husband when I’m either A) Decked out for date night in a cute dress and heels or B) lounging around in sweat pants – without makeup. It’s nice to know that most guys can appreciate both ends of the spectrum.
Oh, and I’ve been obsessed with MorningStar Farm products for the past year or so…have you tried their Corn Dogs? 🙂 YUM.

my ex loved me in my signature LBD the best – and liked my hair down as opposed to up. basically anything showing skin he was a fan of…ha! typical guy 🙂

my husband is the same way… he seems to compliment me most when i’m in my sweats, workout clothes, or PJs. even just last night, i put my hair in a messy bun on top of my head, and he instantly said, “you look so darn cute”. i don’t quite understand, but it’s fine by me since being comfy and casual is my favorite. 😉
He doesn’t normally have an opinion about my clothes, but has mentioned that he likes my yoga pants and some dresses. I bought a sheer pink short sleeved cardigan awhile back that he said he wasn’t a fan of because it looked like lingerie,and in his mind it should only be worn in the house, but other than that he doesn’t really comment on my clothing choices. Like Janetha said it is more of compliments on actual features.
It doesn’t seem to matter what the outfit is, as long as it’s low cut I get a compliment!
Jeans and a v-neck with converse! I swear, it seems to be every guys favorite. Most of my guy friends truly like no-makeup better, too! They tend to like the “Mom” looks, and not anything too showy. One of my friends always tells me “Modest is the hottest!” Haha 🙂
My hubby likes it when I’m dressed up, but he seems to always give me the most compliments and go on and on about how cute I look when I’m in sweats! Since I work from home, it’s not exactly super motivating for me to change out of sweats most days since he’s always telling me how adorable I look in them! HA!
when i was dating my ex, he loved the look of black- like a black shirt with black shoes. i tried my best to find cute dresses that were all black and wear black pumps with them to achieve the “black on black” look.
looking back, i think i tried too hard since i was more of a colors girl lol
awww how cute of Ryan! This is kinda fun to think about, haha! I think Greg (fiance) compliments me the most when I’m wearing casual everyday type outfits. He especially tends to like jeans for some reason. But I feel thankful b/c no matter how good/not good I feel one day, he always thinks I look like a princess! And I’m not saying this in an arrogant manner Julie! I’m just kind of astonished that he’s like that 😛 I’m sure Ryan is like that with you too, it sure seems like it~! 😉
My boyfriend has certain preferences, and all of them are actually easier for me. He likes my hair in its natural wavy state (no straightening–sweet!), and he thinks I look adorable in jeans and a t-shirt.
Of course, when I get all dolled up I don’t think he minds either 😉

My boyfriend loves when I’m in a black and red combo… for some reason he always compliments me whenever I wear my red ballet flats.
My fiance prefers when I wear no make-up, jeans and a t-shirt. But I hate going out in public like that!
Haha my boyfriend has definitely never heard of any expensive brands like that. He does think I look best in dresses though, and so do I. So I guess that makes sense 🙂 We all look better dressed up I think!
I totally agree! My guy will compliment me when I think I look like a horror but he also loves when I get dressed up in a cute outfit and a pair of heels!

My ex-boyfriend loved Uggs (I personally hate them), but I only wore them with yoga pants so maybe he likes a laidback look?
Without fail, I get the most compliments from my husban when I’m in gym clothes or sweats with my hair up and glasses on! Im not complaining! 🙂
I get the most compliments from Dustin when I’m in my PJ’s (shorts and tank top) and my workout clothes, with no makeup on, ha. He doesn’t care too much when I get all gussied up, and loves watching me dance in the kitchen while I clean, ha! We’re originally from small towns and he loves singing “Gimme that Girl” to me 🙂
My boyfriend likes when I wear tight pants (duh, I guess) or low cut tops, like all guys, but also told me this weekend he doesn’t like my hair the first day I wash it, cause it looks too styled. He says the 3rd or 4th day when it’s all slept on and flattened out is the best.
Weirdo. haha. But I love it cause I hate washing my hair.
Also he loves when I wear his shirts or hoodies or PJs, and contrary to what you’d think he prefers my one piece bathing suit to all my bikinis.
I have naturally curly hair, so I usually wake up with bed head making me look like I have a lion’s mane for hair… and my boyfriend LOVES it lol. It’s really not attractive, but I appreciate the compliment! He’s a sweetie 🙂
HAH! Same here! How funny—I thought my bf was the only weirdo who loved the fact that I wake up looking like Curly Sue!
He also loves the face I make when I wake up. Apparently I make a “mean face” and scrunch my forehead and squint my eyes… I don’t know?? As weird as those two things are, it’s the little things he notices that make me feel that extra love that you sometimes miss!

My boyfriend says that he loves me best with no makeup, wearing yoga pants and one of his sweatshirts. Sexy, right? Although, as a few people mentioned above, he definitely doesn’t complain when I get dressed up, either!
I read the same article this morning! The shoes are what got my attention too, I’ve rarely ever heard men stop and stare at a woman and exclaim “oh god those SHOES!!”. I can’t pinpoint one outfit in particular that my own boyfriend loves; he generally has something nice to say about whatever I have on! Though like many of the previous comments, we always seem most comfortable in pajamas and lounge wear!
My boyfriend always thinks it’s adorable when I wear his comfy clothes (t’s and sweatpants) around the house because they completely drown me. He usually complements me whenever I get dressed up to go out – a cute top, jeans, and heels.
Most of the time my fiancee compliments me when I’m not wearing make up and/or wearing something really basic like jeans and a button up.
Unfortunately, my fuzzy bathrobe doesn’t make the cut either.
My guy liks tight(er) workout clothes like good fitting yoga pants and a tank. That way you can still see my shape but still super comfy for a snuggle. He doesn’t like anything too “fashionable” That probably won’t make sense…but, he just doesn’t really seem to like things that are “in” like rompers, off the shoulder slouchy tops, etc. I guess he likes classic styles? haha.
What supportive menfolk we have. 🙂 I second what someone else said about features over clothing. I can’t identify any rhyme or reason as to what my husband seems to like, so I guess he probably thinks I look the best when I’m happy/laughing/smiling/relaxed or otherwise feeling good. 🙂
I tend to get the most compliments from my husband when I’m in my work clothes. Nothing too over the top “fancy,” but I guess I’d say he likes the dressed up look.
I have to ask… how were the burgers? Your honest opinion 🙂 I’ve tried a few regular frozen veggie burgers, some I’ve hated and some I’ve loved. I’ve never seen the turk’y ones!
Also, my husband actually picks most of my clothes out when we go shopping. Sounds creepy, but I really think he’s just trying to rush the process! haha but he does have pretty good taste!
Tim loves when I wear jeans and a tighter fitting sweater in the winter and he loves shorts and a tank in the summer. He’s a pretty casual guy 🙂
My husband really doesn’t care what I wear. Whether it’s an old high school sweat shirt and pajama pants, or a brand new cocktail dress, he compliments me no matter what I have on lol. We should do the same thing for ourselves. Why shouldn’t we feel gorgeous in an old t shirt, sloppy pony tail and running shoes..? 🙂
