OGX Beauty Summertime Giveaway

July 13, 2015 by Julie 1,994 Comments

A few weeks ago, regular readers may remember me briefly mentioning my love for OGX Beauty’s lemon highlight activating mist in a past Things I’m Loving Friday post. I fell in love with the natural highlighting spray right at the end of spring and use it in my hair nearly every time we head out on the lake!

OGX Highlight Activating Mist

It’s simple to apply – just spritz in your hair and go – and I truly do feel like it has helped lighten up my naturally blonde hair a bit!

highlight spray

I’ve been toying with the idea of visiting a salon to have my hair professionally lightened up for years, but I am always apprehensive because I’ve had so many people tell me how hard it is to return to your hair to its natural blonde hair shade should you ever decide to stop coloring your hair. I’m sure I’ll muster up the courage to lighten things up a bit eventually, but until then, I’m definitely enjoying way the sun is lightening my hair up this summer and truly believe this lemon highlight activating mist is increasing the amount of sunkissed highlights I’m seeing in my hair this year! (I promise I’m not just seeing things! Ryan said he can see a difference and this spray has great reviews on Ulta.com and Amazon.com!)

ogx

Aside from the obvious highlight benefit, I also love the bright citrus scent (thanks to the key lime extract and sweet citrus oil) and the way the spray makes my hair feel so soft (thanks to ultra hair-hydrating coconut oil)!

highlighting spray

The spray doesn’t rely on peroxide or any form of hair colorant or dye to give you your highlights (highlights come from the lemon oil!), so it’s not harsh on your hair but actually nourishes your locks while lightening them which I absolutely love. (A quick note: I probably wouldn’t use the mist every day because it can make my hair look a little greasy which I typically don’t mind because I just use it when I’m going to be outside sweating and playing around by the water anyway. Great for beach or lake days!)

Okay, now that I’ve dedicated a little too much time to professing my love for this highlighting spray, it’s giveaway time!

My favorite summer activity this year is exploring any/everywhere in New England! My husband and I moved to New Hampshire from Florida in November. We’ve missed our typical Florida beach weekends but are having an awesome time seeing all that the northeast has to offer now that the weather is nice and sunny 🙂

I am 22 weeks pregnant and with this FL heat I am loving that we have a pool. There have been many evenings already spent cooling off and relaxing before dinner. Plus being in the water takes away all of the aches and pains I’ve had in my back and hips. So I understand your love for the water right now!!

My favorite summer activity right now is definitely to be at the pool – both to lay by it and read but also to swim. Especially with being so pregnant, it’s not only refreshing but I’m practically weightless in there, which is awesome! 🙂

I’ve been really jealous of everyone’s time at the lake/ river/ beach/ pool. Haven’t had the chance to do any of these and it’s been pretty hot. But we recently moved to Kansas and have a nice backyard. So I’ve really enjoyed relaxing in the yard with my puppy (also a Sadie) and husband. Reading in the hammock and growing our first small garden.

My favorite thing to do this summer is simple. It’s just hanging out on the terrace of our new apartment. Our previous apartement had no options to simply sit outside and relax. I am so happy that we took the step to buy our own place in the middle of the city and this summer I want to enjoy it as much as possible.

My favorite thing to do outside this summer is ANYTHING! I’m a busy attorney with a long commute, so the spare time I have to spend outdoors is minimal. Whenever I can, I take advantage of long walks after dinner, early morning runs, and lazy Sundays reading in the shade.

I love laying out by the pool! And as a fellow blonde (well, more like dirty-blonde, light brunette), I can tell you that growing out highlights isn’t the end of the world. I got highlights every six months for probably six or seven years before I got tired of it and decided to grow it out over two years ago. I was ready to have to dye it so that it wouldn’t look totally trashy but surprisingly it looked fine! The highlights were subtle enough and the color faded enough that it just looks like a minor ombre. I still have traces of the highlights in the bottom half of my hair and it’s faded enough to blend in with the rest of my hair. I actually love it! I think your hair is light enough that you would be able to grow it out just fine.
