A few weeks ago, regular readers may remember me briefly mentioning my love for OGX Beauty’s lemon highlight activating mist in a past Things I’m Loving Friday post. I fell in love with the natural highlighting spray right at the end of spring and use it in my hair nearly every time we head out on the lake!
It’s simple to apply – just spritz in your hair and go – and I truly do feel like it has helped lighten up my naturally blonde hair a bit!
I’ve been toying with the idea of visiting a salon to have my hair professionally lightened up for years, but I am always apprehensive because I’ve had so many people tell me how hard it is to return to your hair to its natural blonde hair shade should you ever decide to stop coloring your hair. I’m sure I’ll muster up the courage to lighten things up a bit eventually, but until then, I’m definitely enjoying way the sun is lightening my hair up this summer and truly believe this lemon highlight activating mist is increasing the amount of sunkissed highlights I’m seeing in my hair this year! (I promise I’m not just seeing things! Ryan said he can see a difference and this spray has great reviews on Ulta.com and Amazon.com!)
Aside from the obvious highlight benefit, I also love the bright citrus scent (thanks to the key lime extract and sweet citrus oil) and the way the spray makes my hair feel so soft (thanks to ultra hair-hydrating coconut oil)!
The spray doesn’t rely on peroxide or any form of hair colorant or dye to give you your highlights (highlights come from the lemon oil!), so it’s not harsh on your hair but actually nourishes your locks while lightening them which I absolutely love. (A quick note: I probably wouldn’t use the mist every day because it can make my hair look a little greasy which I typically don’t mind because I just use it when I’m going to be outside sweating and playing around by the water anyway. Great for beach or lake days!)
Okay, now that I’ve dedicated a little too much time to professing my love for this highlighting spray, it’s giveaway time!

Anything by the water! I live 10 min from the beach so I run there as often as I can. I grew up playing in the woods so the summer brings back many good memories. For now I spend 8+ hours inside at work so ANY time outside is precious. Note to self…take days off ASAP to get outdoors!
I love riding my bike and spending time at our family’s place on the river.
I’d love to try that highlight mist. I’ve been highlighting my hair for years and now that I want to start getting closer to my natural color (sandy/dark blond, I think!) it’s going to be harder than I thought. Maybe this would help make the transition a little easier 🙂
I love going to the beach with friends.
