Original Portrait Giveaway

November 22, 2011 by Julie 679 Comments

I am so excited about the giveaway I have coming your way today!

About a week ago, I received an email from Meredith, a beautiful artist from Virginia. She is graduating in a few weeks from Longwood University with a BFA with a concentration in painting and drawing and is beginning to build a career as a fine artist and a portrait artist.

She sent me an amazing watercolor portrait that she did of Sadie and I was absolutely blown away.

dog print 005

Isn’t it amazing!? (And yes, I still have it in its protective wrapping until I can get it framed, hence the glare. I don’t want to take any chances with it!)

When I showed Ryan the picture he was just as impressed with her work as I was and we both treasure this gorgeous piece of art from Meredith.

Meredith has generously offered to do a giveaway of one single-subject watercolor portrait of an animal or person (approximately 10’’ x 12’’). (Check out her blog to see a current portrait she’s working on of an adorable little girl!)

Meredith notes that her work will be “as dynamic as the photograph allows,” and says that a vibrant, engaging photo will help her produce a vibrate, engaging portrait!

All I can think about right now when I think about this giveaway is what an amazing gift one of her original portraits would be for new parents (a baby portrait would be adorable!), an enthusiastic pet owner or parents of a recent graduate… or you can get one done of a pet or person who is special to you to keep for yourself!

If you would like to work with Meredith or check out some of her work, you may browse her Etsy shop, visit her blog or Facebook page or follow her on Twitter.

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what you would like a portrait of if you won an original portrait from Meredith!

I will randomly select a winner tomorrow afternoon. Good luck!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’d love a portrait of my three year old niece, Livia. It’s her birthday December 5th, and I know my sister would just love it. Alternatively, I’d like a portrait of our imaginary (future) dog, Chewbacca Reiner van der Hoorn. Either way, it would rock. What a great painting of Sadie!

Sadie sure looks cute! She definitely captured her personality! I would have to get a picture of my late cat, Millie. Millie was a cat that was more like a person to me. She knew when I would cry, she knew when I was happy and all the “calls” I had for her she would respond. The quirky little things we shared, like picking her up and putting her on my lap so I can rub her belly and scratch her left leg! I miss her so so much (its been a bit over a year) and would very much love to win a portrait of her. 🙂

I would actually love a painting of of our house. It may sound odd, but it’s our first home we bought together as a married couple, it’s where we brought Hailey home to and no matter where we go in the future, I’d love to have a beautiful momento of the house we became a family in.
