Original Portrait Giveaway

November 22, 2011 by Julie 679 Comments

I am so excited about the giveaway I have coming your way today!

About a week ago, I received an email from Meredith, a beautiful artist from Virginia. She is graduating in a few weeks from Longwood University with a BFA with a concentration in painting and drawing and is beginning to build a career as a fine artist and a portrait artist.

She sent me an amazing watercolor portrait that she did of Sadie and I was absolutely blown away.

dog print 005

Isn’t it amazing!? (And yes, I still have it in its protective wrapping until I can get it framed, hence the glare. I don’t want to take any chances with it!)

When I showed Ryan the picture he was just as impressed with her work as I was and we both treasure this gorgeous piece of art from Meredith.

Meredith has generously offered to do a giveaway of one single-subject watercolor portrait of an animal or person (approximately 10’’ x 12’’). (Check out her blog to see a current portrait she’s working on of an adorable little girl!)

Meredith notes that her work will be “as dynamic as the photograph allows,” and says that a vibrant, engaging photo will help her produce a vibrate, engaging portrait!

All I can think about right now when I think about this giveaway is what an amazing gift one of her original portraits would be for new parents (a baby portrait would be adorable!), an enthusiastic pet owner or parents of a recent graduate… or you can get one done of a pet or person who is special to you to keep for yourself!

If you would like to work with Meredith or check out some of her work, you may browse her Etsy shop, visit her blog or Facebook page or follow her on Twitter.

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what you would like a portrait of if you won an original portrait from Meredith!

I will randomly select a winner tomorrow afternoon. Good luck!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I would have her paint my three dogs! The last portrait I had done, my dog died the week after I sent the artist a photo! It’s taken a year to be able to hang it up, and I do love the memories, but I would love to have an updated one of the two dogs we rescued…

    Great giveaway and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Julie! Last fall my Dad’s English Setter named Pepper died after being hit by a car. This absoluetly broke my Dad’s heart because Pepper was much more than a pet, he was a member of our family. My Dad loved Pepper so much and it would mean the world to him to recieve a portrait to remember him by. I would love to be able to do this for my Dad. Thank you so much for this orpportunity! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family!

I’d love a portrait of my sister and I from my wedding in September! She was my MOH and has since fallen pretty ill and lost lots of weight, so I think having a beautiful picture of us together would help her remember how wonderful that experience was. Also, I can’t wait to see your turkey costume. You should wear a smoke machine on your back and weave in and out of all of the runners like a turkey on FIRE!
