Original Portrait Giveaway

November 22, 2011 by Julie 679 Comments

I am so excited about the giveaway I have coming your way today!

About a week ago, I received an email from Meredith, a beautiful artist from Virginia. She is graduating in a few weeks from Longwood University with a BFA with a concentration in painting and drawing and is beginning to build a career as a fine artist and a portrait artist.

She sent me an amazing watercolor portrait that she did of Sadie and I was absolutely blown away.

dog print 005

Isn’t it amazing!? (And yes, I still have it in its protective wrapping until I can get it framed, hence the glare. I don’t want to take any chances with it!)

When I showed Ryan the picture he was just as impressed with her work as I was and we both treasure this gorgeous piece of art from Meredith.

Meredith has generously offered to do a giveaway of one single-subject watercolor portrait of an animal or person (approximately 10’’ x 12’’). (Check out her blog to see a current portrait she’s working on of an adorable little girl!)

Meredith notes that her work will be “as dynamic as the photograph allows,” and says that a vibrant, engaging photo will help her produce a vibrate, engaging portrait!

All I can think about right now when I think about this giveaway is what an amazing gift one of her original portraits would be for new parents (a baby portrait would be adorable!), an enthusiastic pet owner or parents of a recent graduate… or you can get one done of a pet or person who is special to you to keep for yourself!

If you would like to work with Meredith or check out some of her work, you may browse her Etsy shop, visit her blog or Facebook page or follow her on Twitter.

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what you would like a portrait of if you won an original portrait from Meredith!

I will randomly select a winner tomorrow afternoon. Good luck!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

This would be such a great gift for young parents!

Since I don’t have any little ones yet, I’d have to pick my cat Meatball. He is the strangest cat ever, so it would be awesome to capture one of his “special” moments in a watercolor pic!

My sister is having a baby around the New Year. I am a very poor graduate student and generally my gifts are handmade. Considering that I am not very crafty, the stories behind the gifts are generally better than the gifts themselves. I would love to give her great gift after the kid is born; one that she will actually enjoy and appreciate and be able to keep for a long time.

I had a kitten who had a broken neck injury and I did everything to save her but it just wasn’t the right time for her. I consider her my angel for many reasons and even though I have two awesome cats today (thanks to her), I would love a portrait of her to remind me every day that she is looking after me now.

    Thanks for the giveaway, Julie!

I’m rather stumped here….i have a new niece as of 10/5/11, so a portrait of her for my her parents (my twin brother and his wife) would be amazing! However we also have a dog that we would love to have a portrait of. Reese is a crazy dog when it rains…and it’s been raining her ALL WEEK, so i sometimes forget how great she is when she’s shaking the furniture, drooling all over us and the house, and panting uncontrollable. A picture capturing her try silly-ness would be great for rainy weeks 🙂 not to mention, we for some reason have a portrait of my brother’s boxer and not of our lab….weird i know!

Sadie’s portrait is stunning! I would love to get a portrait of my dad for our house. I come from a family of lifeguards and my dad, who retired last year recently went back and got re-certified. He’s now the oldest lifeguard on the beach 62!, and this summer one of the younger lifeguards took this great photo of him putting up the green and red swim flags. Right now its on the fridge but its a picture I would love to hang up- I know he’s proud of it!
