I am so excited about the giveaway I have coming your way today!
About a week ago, I received an email from Meredith, a beautiful artist from Virginia. She is graduating in a few weeks from Longwood University with a BFA with a concentration in painting and drawing and is beginning to build a career as a fine artist and a portrait artist.
She sent me an amazing watercolor portrait that she did of Sadie and I was absolutely blown away.
Isn’t it amazing!? (And yes, I still have it in its protective wrapping until I can get it framed, hence the glare. I don’t want to take any chances with it!)
When I showed Ryan the picture he was just as impressed with her work as I was and we both treasure this gorgeous piece of art from Meredith.
Meredith has generously offered to do a giveaway of one single-subject watercolor portrait of an animal or person (approximately 10’’ x 12’’). (Check out her blog to see a current portrait she’s working on of an adorable little girl!)
Meredith notes that her work will be “as dynamic as the photograph allows,” and says that a vibrant, engaging photo will help her produce a vibrate, engaging portrait!
All I can think about right now when I think about this giveaway is what an amazing gift one of her original portraits would be for new parents (a baby portrait would be adorable!), an enthusiastic pet owner or parents of a recent graduate… or you can get one done of a pet or person who is special to you to keep for yourself!

I’d definitely get one of our dog. She’ll likely be our only “child” 🙂 It shouldn’t be hard to get a “dynamic” picture of her since she’s a nutcase!
I would love to have a painting of my beautiful Siberian Husky who I lost unexectedly to a sudden illness four years ago this February. Kodiak was a Husky through and through and a dear and true friend who was always by my side. And I was by his side holding him in my hands on that terrible February day when he went to the place called Rainbow Bridge

I received a copy of this poem when I lost my puppy. It was so comforting, i love it.
Her work is great! I would love a painting of our little English Bulldog pup, Coney Bananas! We are pretty dog obsessed and a portrait would be a beautiful addition to our home!

No joke I was just looking into pet portraits on etsy!! I would do a painting of my boyfriend’s family dog Ginger. She’s a 12+ year old Golden mix. They adopted her from the woods by their house where she was abandoned as a puppy. She’s the sweetest!

I feel kind of weird saying it after all the people who would get their kids, but I would love one of my cat. She’s getting kind of old, but she’s so so beautiful, and I think my whole family would like a nice portrait of her.

Would love a painting of our dogs, Murphy and Apollo. Murphy is my first dog ever so he’s Mama’s boy. Apollo was found last year on the side of the road as an 8-pound flea-invested little guy. He’s now 100+ pounds and the sweetest, smartest boy – and has no idea how big he is. They make me smile everyday. 🙂

I would love to have a portrait done of my precious dog, Dexter, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in April. She does beautiful work!
I would get a portrait of my pit bull, Bella. She is my BFF. We’ve been together since she was 1 year old, and she is 8 now. We may both have a few more grey hairs, but they’ve been worth it whenever she snuggles up to me.
I’d have to go with my niece to give to her grandparents. She’ll be one next month!

That is an amazing picture!! If I won I would have her paint of picture of my parents dog, Nixon. We were fishing this summer and I took an awesome picture of him standing on the side of the boat. The lake and gorgeous sky is in the background! It would make a great gift for them!
