Porky

March 2, 2011 by Julie 53 Comments

I’ll give you one guess as to what I had for lunch today.

Pork!

Pork!

You guys are so wise. 😉

Today’s mid-day meal included a pork sandwich made with tomato, broccoli slaw, stone ground mustard and leftover pork.

Hump Day Lunch

The sandwich was great, but my side was even better.

Cucumber Salad

Cucumber salad!

Seriously, lovin’ this mix. If you’re in the mood for a light and refreshing way to incorporate some yummy veggies into your diet, this cucumber salad is the way to go.

I devoured this meal in no time flat. It’s a gift! 😀

Looney Tunes

As I titled this blog post, I immediately thought of Porky Pig from Looney Tunes. Remember him!?

"That's All, Folks!"

He’s such a cutie! (But not as cute as Babe.)

Growing up I loved Looney Tunes. Sylvester the cat was my absolute favorite.

Sylvester

My best friend from summer camp, Christine, and I even had Tweety and Sylvester “best friend” heart necklaces.

Questions of the Afternoon

  • Were you a fan of Looney Tunes? Who was your favorite character? Do you remember Tiny Tunes?

I wasn’t a huge fan of Looney Tunes, but I liked Tiny Tunes.

I’m making your rutabaga fries for the first time tonight! I was in line at the grocery store and the women behind me asked how I planned to prepare my rutabaga; she loved the idea of turning them into ‘fries’.

So, random question. All your crock-pot meals are inspiring me to think about buying a crock-pot. what size and type of crockpot do you have? i’m only cooking for two people so i don’t want a big one and i’m not sure what to look for because i’ve never used one before.

thank you for the link and everything! Just one more question, which size do you use the most? I might get a cheaper one and i’m trying to decide what size to get for two people! Thank you so much for your input!

no prob! since there’s just 2 of us, we use the 2 qt. the most. but if i were going to buy one size, i’d probably buy the 4 qt. size for when i want to make chili and roasts. 🙂
