Pretty Peppers + Giveaway

October 5, 2010 by Julie 483 Comments

How pretty are orange peppers?

Orange Peppa

I would say I don’t know why they don’t get more attention… but I do. It’s because they’re more than a dollar more per pound than green peppers! Blasphemy!

Still, sometimes the pretty peppers are worth the extra dough. I guess sometimes you just want to enjoy something bright orange in the middle of October!

Along with a sliced orange pepper, my lunch included a honey mustard chicken salad wrap.

Tuesday Lunch

I made the chicken salad by combining honey mustard with a sliced chicken breast. I placed the chicken on a bed of broccoli slaw before rollin’ it up and chowing down.

Chicken Close Up

Good lunch!

Mighty Leaf Tea Giveaway

I know it may sound silly, but something about this cooler weather makes me feel warm inside.

Maybe it’s because I know the days of sweating five seconds after you step out the door are (mostly) gone, or maybe it’s because I know that with cooler weather comes the holiday season.  Whatever it is, I’m loving the comfy, cozy feeling of fall.

Along with big sweaters and fuzzy boots, a hot mug of tea enjoyed this time of year takes me to a place of warmth and comfort. When I was contacted by Mighty Leaf to try a sample of the company’s fall teas, I was more than game.

I was already a fan of the company’s chocolate mint truffle tea (I bought it at Whole Foods and blogged about it last October), so I was excited to try new flavors.

The first one up to bat? Vanilla bean!

Mighty Leaf Vanilla Bean

The Deets

I enjoyed a hot mug of this tea with my lunch today and it was tasty and warmed my insides right up!

Pretty Sachet

Now it’s your turn to try!

Mighty Leaf is offering one reader the following items:

  • 1 box Bombay Chai
  • 1 box Rainforest Mate
  • 1 Box Chocolate Mint Truffle
  • 1 Box Matcha Green Tea
  • 1 Tea Top Brew Mug (pictured below) or 1 Mighty Leaf Ceramic Mug

Tea Top Brew Mug

To enter this giveaway, simply comment on this post by telling me your favorite kind of tea.

I will randomly select and announce a winner tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck! 😀

I loving peach tea right now. With a little bit of honey and a squeeze of lemon, it’s a perfect post-dessert dessert!

When it gets colder I’m looking forward to drinking Gingerbread and other holiday-flavored teas.

My favorite would definitely have to be chai! Decaf though…because it doesn’t stand up to my love of coffee and I don’t want to be bouncing off the walls more than once a day. I would love to incorporate some new teas into my late afternoons.

Vanilla Bean Mighty Leaf is the best ever! I found this at a little coffee shop in NY (Financier) and ever since I’ve been in love. Unfortunately for my grad school loans, I cant afford to buy the very expensive mighty leaf for home. It’s so indulgent, makes me melt inside thinking about it. I think I love it SO much because it reminds me of vanilla bean ice cream for winter. YUM!

Living in China I drank buckets at a time of Dragon Well loose leaf green tea (longjing cha), but over here it costs so much I wish I’d shipped home a lifetime’s supply before leaving! It is the mother of all teas, not for taste but for physical benefits, one cup and you feel like superwoman!
