Rainy Day Duds

February 10, 2011 by Julie 36 Comments

It’s dreary and wet outside in Orlando today, which gave me the perfect excuse to wear rain boots to work! 🙂

Rain, Rain, Go Away

  • Long sweater vest: Gap (Christmas present from my sister)
  • Army green and white layered tank tops: Forever 21
  • Black leggings: Bed Bath and Beyond (Yup!)
  • Green rain boots: Hunter (LOVE these things!)
  • Watch: Michele
  • Monogrammed sliver heart necklace: Gift from my grandma in 5th grade

Note: If you’re trying to justify the cost of Hunter rain boots, just put a call out to people on Twitter who will immediately tell you they’re an absolutely necessity in your life. Also, you can say that you will use them to go fishing (since they’re water proof and all) which will feed you and save you money on food.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Cute outfit! I would love some Hunter boots but it doesn’t rain nearly enough where I live to justify the cost…I guess I should get on Twitter 🙂

I”ve been trying to justify buying Hunter boots for over a year now. I think I’m taking the plunge. But now’s the question of “what color?” Ahh!

My wedding photographers want to do a shot with rainboots under my dress and my colors are gray and yellow. Yellow ones perhaps?

I LOVE Hunter boots! I don’t actually have any but I’d love to buy some… if we were getting as much rain as we are snow, I’d be all over it. Great outfit Julie! 🙂

I love my Hunter boots too! Probably one of the best investments I’ve ever made, and I’ve used them a bunch (especially with all the snow we’ve been having in PA) and I know they’ll last me forever. Word to the wise, though, if you’re on the short side (I’m 5’3″) or have larger calves, go with the “Huntress” line that they have…its the same thing just a little shorter and a little wider. I got it mostly because the original Hunters were way too tall on me…I couldn’t bend my knees! lol

I have these same boots too!! My justification was that I could take the dogs out for a walk even on mornings when it rained, and THEY would want me to have them. 🙂 Of course, now that I have them, I haven’t had much opportunity to wear them – I keep wishing for rain but so far no luck!

Question: Do these run big/or small/or just right? I sound like goldilocks. haha

And how tall are you? Someone said they got the huntress boots instead because they are short

i think they run true to size. i am tall though (5’7”) and my only concern was the calf size. they’re kind of slim, so there’s not much room for my calves when i wear them with jeans. i do have big calves though!

Those boots are so cute! Now I have to figure out how to justify them while living in Brazil….where it rains 3 months out of the year….hmmm any ideas?

I have the same wellies, but in black. They are expensive and I may never have gotten them if I didn’t have dogs. Once I got a dog I feel like it started raining in Maryland more 😉 Walking the pups in the rain is much more pleasant with dry tootsies! Absolute necessity now!

I agree about the price being worth it. Best rain boots EVER…I love that the rubber is really soft and bendable, so I feel like I can actually MOVE my feet/legs while wearing them!

    I LOVE MY HUNTERS.
    I have two.
White and olive (the olive is not the usual line of Hunters they’re more hardcore looking)

I actually have a story pertaining to the price of Hunters.

I was in Starbucks with my two bestfriends/room mates last week and a woman went on a rant to one of them because she was wearing her hunters (in black). The woman goes, “Oh those are the rainboots that everyone buys because of all the cool colors (note: that is so not why)…What in the world would possess someone to buy those rain boots at the price that they are, especially when they don’t even have liners built in, AND you have to buy their liners separate?…blah blah blah!”
Needless to say, our smiles quickly dropped from what we thought was someone sharing our love to someone who was ragging on our purchases. My poor friend was like “Well they are great boots and I know they are expensive, but I will have them forever”.

I agree with my friend and everyone else that loves Hunters, they are SO worth the investment!!

I love your outfit! I spent awhile debating about buying hunters too bc of the price but they are sooooo worth it. For anyone debating, they are great for snow too! I live in Chicago so I can wear them for at least half of the year and they have def been a great investment.

Totally agree about hunter rainboots. I used to live in the city and I needed them because I walked everywhere! Life was miserable without them! I still wear them all the time even though I live in the suburbs. They are a safety blanket! 🙂

the Hunter boots are definitely worth the price. Especially if you are an outdoorsy person. Living here in SC our winter is spent at oyster roasts and such. Even if it isnt raining they are useful for things like that when the ground gets smushy from hundreds of people everywhere! I also suggest the Huntress for girls with bigger calves. They dont come as many different colors but honestly for the price I suggest getting a more classic color anyway. You want to spend your money wisely and get a color that you will like in a couple of years. I love em!
