Return of the Noodle Bowl

April 13, 2010 by Julie 32 Comments

Would you believe I didn’t have pasta for lunch at all last week? What is this!? How could I neglect my beloved noodle bowls?

Well, I showed my favorite Carba Nada pasta some love again today.

Carba Nada Pasta

My noodle bowl returned in full force and included:

  • Carba Nada egg fettuccine pasta
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Portobello mushrooms
  • Tomato basil marinara sauce
  • Parmesan cheese

Parmesan Cheese Pleeeease

Tuesday's Lunch

Is it weird that I love marinara sauce cold, straight from the jar?

I also like Parmesan cheese shaken right outta the container into my mouth. The same goes for whipped cream squirted into my mouth right from the can. 😉

Birthday Wish List

My family has been asking me what I want for my birthday at the end of the month.

I gave my sister some ideas yesterday and some of the items on my list made me feel like the lamest person on the planet:

  1. Glass Tupperware (because I don’t want to get cancer from reheating my plastic Tupperware)
  2. New cute tumbler for hot drinks
  3. Massage
  4. New running shoes
  5. Garmin Forerunner (Why is the Garmin 305 so hideous? To make you cough up $300 for the Garmin 405? Ugh.)

What’s the lamest thing you’ve ever asked for?

For me, it’s gotta be the Tupperware (above) or socks.

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I asked the hubs for a food scale and body fat scale for my bday this year. I also asked for a HR monitor from my parents, that wasn’t lame though – it totally rocks.

p.s. food scale – totally worth it, body fat scale – not at all!

Where do you find those noodles? I clinked on your link, but it was just a site about the noodles- not where I can buy them…I’m guessing whole foods??

And OMG- you can get cancer for re-heating plastic tupperware bowls? YIKES!

      i buy them online at netrition.com. 🙂

about the cancer/plastic connection – certain types of plastics that contain the chemical BPA (Bisphenol A) have been linked to an increased risk of cancer when they’re washed or reheated, allowing the chemical to contaminate food or drinks we consume. eek! here’s an article w/ more info: http://health.msn.com/health-topics/cancer/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100200558

Honestly, I prefer the Garmin 305 to my 405! My partner has the 305 and I have the 405 and find the bezel sooooooooooooo annoying sometimes! I literally get frustrated when I try to tap it to get it to switch screens and nothing happens. I’m sure there’s a way to fix this in the settings (maybe to a lighter tap?) but I am too technologically slow to figure it out.

I would have to say that none of those requests are lame… I’ve asked for way worse. I surely hope someone gets you that Garmin. You’ll love it!

I got the 405 for my birthday, but sadly the price tag meant that I didn’t get to ask for lame things such as Tupperware (which I’ve needed forever too, actually) and a blender. I’m also big into asking for books, which my brother has always made fun of me for!!

I just received my first package(s) of carba nada pasta last week, right before I took off for vacation! All thanks to you, Julie! So many of my meals each week are so similar to yours, I ordered 4 bags. I figured if I love to eat everything else that you do, I’m sure to love carba nada, too!
P.S. I do the same thing with marinara, too! haha

Lamest gift? STICKERS! When I was eight, I was obsessed with them and told my parents, aunts, uncles, friends, brother etc that I didn’t want anything else for Christmas. Well, Christmas morning came and every single present I opened contained sheets and sheets of stickers. It was complete sticker overload and my obsession ended soon after. 🙂

girl you DO NOT want that Garmin 405…first off i worked full time at a specialty running store and still pinch hit from time to time, but have many runner friends who bought it….and then returned it.

You should ask for a CONTIGO coffee thermos for your birthday! They’re so awesome – I can literally throw it in my purse and it won’t spill a drop. The lamest thing I have asked for was this past Christmas actually – fit ‘n’ fresh salad pods to make taking salads to work easier. Lame sauce!

I realize this was posted over a year ago BUT had to say… While I too love pyrex containers (aka glass tupperware) if you buy name brand Tupperware you can reheat as much as you like. It is made differently than cheaper products and is dishwasher safe! They have some great bowls that even have little pop top vents for easy heating! Just found this site last night on pinterest and I have been reading it practically all day (and late last night). I love your ideas and how you are so excited about being healthy. I feel like people get annoyed or even look down on me for trying to always be active and healthy (which I know is sometime jealousy) but I try to be an inspiration and its great to see others out there are too! I have a modified batch of your granola bars (didn’t have hazelnuts so just used cranberries) in the oven right now and can’t wait for my son to wake up so we can try them! So glad I found you!
