Sch-Weaty Beast

March 10, 2010 by Julie 17 Comments

I used to never sweat. I would go to the gym, work out, and my face might perspire a little, but that would be it.

These days I find myself sweating a lot more.

Prevent the Stink!

My face still sweats the most, but I also sweat a lot between my “girls” and my stomach is almost always sweatin’ up a storm. I feel like my workouts have only improved and become more challenging, so what gives? Why is my face redder and wetter than ever?

Do you sweat a lot? What exercise makes you sweat the most?

I get the most sweaty during a long run or a spinning class.

According to FitSugar, “Fit people sweat more efficiently by sweating sooner in their workout, when their body temperature is lower.”

Well, that might help explain why I now break a sweat within five minutes of exercising, rather than at the very end of my workout. I thought my body was becoming less equipped to handle good workouts, so this was quite a relief. All those super-sweaty people at the gym are fit, too! 😀

Workout

Today I worked up a sweat at BodyPump. My favorite instructor is getting married on Friday so we’re going to have substitute teachers for the next several classes.

I think this might be a great opportunity for me to change up my strength training routine. If you have any suggestions for great weight-lifting workouts, feel free to send ’em my way!

After BodyPump, I came home and leashed up Sadie for a 25 minute run, followed by a 15 minute walk.

Runnin' Buddy

I am loving this nice weather! It felt great to run outside. I feel like I’ve been cooped up in the gym for too long!

Breakfast

A couple sweet lil’ guys popped up in my breakfast this morning.

PB Chips

Sadie clearly wanted a taste.

After going through her trick repertoire (sit, down, high five, shake), she got a few peanut butter chips to enjoy.

"Okay, I did it. Now gimme!"

I used the peanut butter chips in a breakfast roll up.

Wednesday's Breakfast

My breakfast roll up included:

  • Whole wheat tortilla
  • Greek yogurt
  • Peanut butter chips
  • Apple

I enjoyed the rest of the apple and Greek yogurt cup as well.

PB + Apple Breakfast Roll Up

T-A-S-T-Y!

Hope you’re all enjoying your hump day so far. 😀

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I sweat like a beast!!! Cardio makes me sweat the most, especially HIIT, but so does teaching classes. Lifting doesn’t make me sweat tooooo much. 🙂

Ugh– I don’t normally sweat that much, but I definitely sweat on short, fast runs more than anything else!

I make Eddie work for his treats to! He has the routine down. He always tries to shake first, and then if I dont give him the treat after that, he lays down. then, if he doesnt get the treat after that he automatically rolls over.

Man, I ran 3 miles yesterday and I was sooo sweaty! I’ve been noticing my legs are sweating much more!

Hey there. I’ve just started exercising again and trying to build up my workouts so I guess maybe I can use my sweat as a “gauge” for how much more fit I am getting!

Have a quick question-what kind/brand of tortillas do you typically use?

I sweat soooo much. If I have a regular cotton t-shirt on it is drenched by the end of my workout. And right after I get my hair done, at the end of the workout my hair is so wet that the color comes off on the towel.

I am def a sweaty thang! Cycle class is the main culprit. I sweat buttloads in a good cycle class, but I sweat no matter what workout I’m doin. I love it!

Man, I wish I could get my puppy to run with me…I tried for the first time yesterday since we just got him, but he’s still too young and thought I was playing a game with him. Baby bear just spent the whole time trying to nip at my ankles and catch me. Sadie’s so beautiful though!
Hope you have a great day!

I’m glad you shared that information about sweating…I also used to never sweat, but since I’ve started running more I’ve been sweating more and more, earlier and earlier in my workout. Good to know that’s actually a sign of progress! 🙂

Ive noticed the opposite actually. I used to sweat more when I was a bit overweight and it has gone down after losing weight and gained some muscle. While I understand why fit people would sweat more, I’ve def. seen that overweight people tend to sweat more than leaner people while exercising at the gym.
