The One and Only

June 25, 2012 by Julie 71 Comments

Do you think it was time to change my iGoogle background?

iGoogle

The snowy winter village has been the theme on my iGoogle page since before Christmas and for whatever reason it remained my theme until today. June 25. Summer.

My theme now?

hammock tropical water

How pretty is that!?

The picture reminded me of images from some of The One and Only resorts.

When Ryan and I were brainstorming honeymoon ideas one night a few years ago, we got a little sidetracked and started looking at ridiculously expensive and luxurious resorts. (We do this when we’re trying to find places to rent, too. $25,000 a month houses? Riiight.)

We stumbled upon The One and Only’s website and were blown away. We spent far too long looking at the website even when we realized the resorts were waaay out of our budget.

If you’re in the mood to daydream about amazing vacations, I highly recommend spending some time on their website.

Just check out these images…

Okay, time to get my head out of the clouds… Clearly a vacation is sounding miiighty fine right now!

Lunch

I didn’t feel like putting a ton of thought into today’s lunch, so I grabbed a bunch of veggies, some chicken sausage, an egg, shredded cheese and turkey bacon out of the fridge and made a scramble.

Easy and delicious! My two main requirements!

Question of the Afternoon

Let’s all do a little daydreaming…

  • If you could go anywhere on vacation tomorrow, where would you want to go and who would you bring with you?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I love this game! I would go back to London with Keith for the Olympics! Considering I am slightly obsessed with London (and have been trying to figure out how to move there since my vacation last October) this isn’t really a big surprise to the people who know me. 🙂

I’d go sailing in Greece with husband, and my best friends & their husbands. No kids allowed! Lol.

My husband and I play the “where are we going” game on Bing Travel as if we have the time and the money to make that happen. But SOMETIMES you stumble across something you actually can afford…like a long weekend to St. Thomas. So that is where I would like to go with the hubby!!!

Ahhh those resorts DO look awesome!

I’d take 2 vacations….1 with my husband to Hawaii or on a cruise through the bahamas or Greece, and the other with him and my entire family on a houseboat on a lake!

I am with everyone else in saying Greece- it is my dream spot! We have taken one trip overseas to Italy and are planning our second for Germany & Switzerland, but Greece is still my dream. I am not sure why we aren’t doing it next….

My husband and I met in San Francisco and had an amazing time there, so I would go there with him (we’re planning to go for our dating anniversary at some point).

But we also haven’t been on a honeymoon yet, and I would like to do that before re-visiting San Fran… somewhere on a Carribbean island – beach, water, cocktails and relaxing. A girl can dream! 😉

I would bring my husband on a trip to Italy! I’ve been dying to go since I come from a very Italian family … yet they have NEVER TAKEN ME BEFORE :O

I totally feel ya on looking at houses & vacations way over budget… it’s my favorite distraction at work 🙂

We thought about the One and Only in Punta Cana for about three seconds when planning the honeymoon….until we realized how much it would cost and unlike almost every other resort in Mexico, it’s not all inclusive! And apparently a margarita is like $48…say what?!? We’re headed to Sun Palace in Cancun, http://www.palaceresorts.com/sunpalace/default-en.html, so that’s my daydream of choice right now! Bring on the margaritas!!

I would love to go to Boston! It’s not exactly exotic or anything, but I’ve never been and I have a friend doing an internship there this summer and it sounds like such a cool city. Plus I’m sure they’re not getting 95+ temps like here in North Carolina!

I would go to Greece and I would take my boyfriend!

I have been daydreaming about traveling lately too. I’ve also got the urge to go to Napa Valley (or basically anywhere that is summer-ish, because it’s still freezing cold and raining every day in Seattle, boo).

Julie do you watch the deals on Ruelala for travel/getaways? We’ve bought some fun trips from their site. Sometimes the deals are still absurdly expensive though but we have done a few that were super cheap and very quality resorts. I know you love your rue for clothes…

Hawaii and Australia are my two “go-to” places. However, as I don’t like to fly, I’m not sure if I will ever get their. I also want to go to Alaska, and at least I would be able to drive there. (Might take a while from the east coast, but still doable). I’m game to go just about anywhere – especially if its really warm. I simply love to travel. Also would like to get back to California and Yosemite Park.

It has been my fiance’s job to plan our honeymon for our November wedding, and when he first started looking, he started showing me these insanely beautiful resorts and stuff. And then when I’d ask about the price he’d go “well, KIND of out of our price range… by a lot”. AH, then why are so showing me all of these beautiful things???!?!?
