The Tree is Up!

December 2, 2010 by Julie 36 Comments

It looks like the cold weather decided to stick around through the work day.

That meant only one thing for Little Miss Sadie …christmas tree 027It was pink fleece-wearin’ weather!

After seeing her feeble little body shivering in our backyard this afternoon, Ryan and I bundled her up this evening before braving the cold.

Sadie is surprisingly good about wearing dog clothes! She even lifts her paws for us to put them into the sleeves and doesn’t struggle.

Just look at how happy she looks trying on hats at PetSmart a couple of months ago! 1 She’s a trooper!

Dinner

When we got home from our chilly walk, we wanted a warm dinner… and we wanted it fast.

I quickly boiled Monterey Pasta Company lobster ravioli for us and topped it with marinara sauce.

christmas tree 032It was just what we were lookin’ for!

Once our hunger was managed, we flipped on ABC Family to watch The Santa Clause while putting up our mini Christmas tree.

christmas tree 043 christmas tree 040Sadie was a good little helper and sat on my lap while I “fluffed” the tree.  christmas tree 044Wouldn’t a little vizsla puppy be the perfect thing to find under your tree on Christmas morning? 😉

Once our tree was up, our friend Merri came over to hang out for a bit and drop off a very special surprise.

christmas tree 034Unbeknownst to us, Merri made us a wedding video!

Throughout our special day, she filmed us getting ready, our ceremony, part of our reception and interviewed many of our guests at our post-wedding brunch. Then, with the help of a friend, she had everything set to music.

I got all weepy watching the video! It is absolutely amazing and Ryan and I were beyond touched. We didn’t hire a videographer, so having this footage is so special. We feel so lucky to have a friend like Merri in our lives and are still feeling a little shocked that we actually have a real wedding video of our own! Woo!

Stay tuned for a special wedding-related surprise tomorrow… 😀

What a amazing surprise! We didn’t hire a videographer either for our wedding this past August, and I really regret it. What a great friend you guys have! Oh, that picture of Sadie in the hat in the pet store is beyond great! I got a good smile from it! SOOO cute!

We put up our tree today too!!! Love the closeup shot of the ornament. It’s so much fun discovering photos you didn’t know were taken, so a video must be ten times as great!

That’s so great that she surprised you with the cd with wedding footage! We are still waiting to get ours from some family members (from over a year ago…). I’m beginning to think we may never get it 🙁

Sadie is such a cutie! Our pooch loves getting dressed up (he brings us his sweaters when he’s cold).

That is so awesome of your friend to put together a video for you guys, especially without you knowing! We didn’t hire a videographer either and I regretted it, in hindsight, because it went by in the blink of an eye. Can’t wait for your surprise!!!

Oh I LOVE the idea of throwback DVDs! I randomly surprised Eric over the summer with “Heavyweights” on DVD and I think it was his best gift ever (and I really enjoy it too). Great suggestions!!

    What a cute little tree!

That’s so nice that your friend put the video together. I don’t want to hire a videographer for our wedding (too expensive!), but I may assign a friend or two to take videos of the day with their camcorders!

Sadie looks so adorable in her pink fleece! My Sadie won’t let me anywhere near her with doggy clothes. I guess she has enough fur to stay warm but sometimes I’d like to dress her up in something cute.

Looks like Merri is the kind of friend we all wish for and some of us find.

    Run on.

That is such a special gift- what a great friend!! You’ll cherish that video for sure 🙂

On our wedding day, one of my bridesmaid’s husbands was following us around when we took pictures before the ceremony. He ended up getting them developed while we finished up, and gave us a mini-album to enjoy during the reception!

I love Sadie’s fleece! So cute  If it gets any colder there I highly recommend the Lands End Dog Squall Jacket. My parents have dogs in New England and they both have these. There is nothing cuter than dogs in coats!

So sweet! I got married over four years ago and I still have yet to see my wedding video. My husband’s uncle filmed everything and his cousin supposedly went around and asked people questions. But I don’t think we’re ever going to get to see any of this!
