Things I’m Loving Friday VI

October 25, 2013 by Julie 110 Comments

Good morning!!!

As soon as this blog post is published, I will be driving to Sarasota for a beach barbeque to kick off Merri and Pete’s wedding weekend! I’m ready to get this party started!

Before I go, I wanted to pop in and share a few of my recent loves with you guys in another Things I’m Loving Friday post. As always, please feel free to play along in the comments section!

Things I’m Loving Friday VI

  • Lens Cap Leash

Lens Cap Leash

Anne deserves a big high five for this one! When we were in the Outaouais region of Quebec together a few weeks ago, I misplaced my lens cap more than a couple of times and Anne recommended purchasing a ridiculously cheap lens cap leash on Amazon. I bought one for less than two dollars and love it! An elastic band goes around the camera and it’s attached to a button that is affixed to the lens cap, so the cap dangles from the camera when it’s unhooked from the lens. No more losing my lens cap!

  • Fall Decorations

Fall Decorations

Hooray for fall decor! There’s something I love about walking into a friend’s house or a local shop and seeing pumpkins and beautiful oranges, reds and yellows everywhere. It means the holiday season is upon us and that makes me waaaay too happy!

  • Ender’s Game

Ender's Game

This book is one of Ryan’s all-time favorite novels and I finally started reading it this week. I’m already hooked and hope to finish it before the movie comes out on November 1. It’s a science fiction novel, so I wasn’t sure it would be a good fit for me, but it’s definitely keeping me entertained!

  • Half Pops

Half Pops IMG_0448

Half Pops are partially popped popcorn kernels and they are ridiculously delicious… and addicting! I haven’t found them for sale in Ocala yet, but I snagged a bag from The Fresh Market when I was in Jacksonville and polished off the bag in no time at all.

  • Clean Sheets

Oh how I adore crawling into bed at night after we just changed the sheets! Clean sheets smell so good and feel extra cozy. And now I want to crawl back into bed…

  • New Balance Tenderly Obsessive Sports Bra

New Balance Sports Bra

New Balance Lined Sports Bra

Finally a fully-lined sports bra with built-in inserts! Since I am a life-long member of the IBTC, I appreciate lined sports bras that add shape to my chest, but cannot stand it when the inserts fall out of my sports bras when I wash them in the washing machine. I received the sports bra from New Balance in preparation for a run I am doing with the company next month and wore it during Saturday’s Race for the Cure. It was supportive and comfortable and I love the hot pink color!

  • Nalgene 32-Ounce BPA-Free Water Bottle

Nalgene 32 Ounce Water Bottle

After I accidentally left my 32-ounce water bottle in Los Angeles during the IDEA World Fitness Convention, I lasted about two months until I broke down and bought a replacement. I love it because it makes drinking lots of water a little bit easier for me. I try to drink two bottles (or more!) a day so I can be sure I’m getting the recommended 64 ounces of water.

Fresh sheets on the bed are the best thing EVER. Hands down…no competition! 😉
I am NOT a member of the IBTC and find it ridiculously hard to find a sports bra that holds my girls in place and doesn’t give me uni-boob!

Right there with you sister. Having huge boobs is no fun when it comes to running. I wear three sports bras when I run. I most likely have the biggest uniboob ever!

Not a member of the IBTC but have my own sports bra issues. I am glad you posted that link to the New Balance site – I see a couple sports bras that might work for me and my pickiness…..I’ve never tried New Balance clothing – looks like my credit card is going to get a work out too 🙂
I am also loving that I found yet another teriffic instructor at my gym. We have some really great instructors and I am so spoiled!

Ohhh wow I need to find some of these half pops! Seems like the best idea since muffin tops 🙂 Sure it comes as no surprise, but I’m really loving all things pumpkin these days. Just posted about pumpkin candy corn fudge and pumpkin butter. Both turned out deliciously!

Also, I’m really liking those Wilton melting chocolates. They’re very versatile. Just made a great Halloween popcorn with them!

And, I’m with you on the sports bra inserts falling out–so annoying when you have the insert on one side & can’t find the other side! lol

I’m loving my $2 Ikea milk frother! I’ve had it for years and never used it, and just rediscovered it this morning. I used frothed milk, coffee from my Keurig and a sprinkling of cinnamon to make a faux cappucino in one minute this morning and it made my day! My only regret is that I haven’t been using it all along… lost time… sigh.

Niiiice, thanks sooo much for the lens cap leash recommendation! I was hoping something like that existed and I’m definitely going to have to get one. Everyday I cross my fingers and hope I don’t break or lose the cap to my Canon, haha. And it’s about time someone came up with a really good sports bra, huh??? You would think that every company would make them that way. 😛

A word on the lens cap leash: The little button unsticks from the adhesive pad that you stick on the lens cap. Foe me it only took 2 weeks. I really can’t complain because of the price, but you might need to hot glue or super glue it back on. Still better than losing a cap!

I love the entire Enders Game series, I re-read it again after not having read it in probably 10 years and still loved it. The first book is by far the best but the follow on books are still so good too. I’m looking forward to the movie but I am nervous about them ruining it a bit which sometimes movies of books can do.

My purple and pink Nalgene 32-ounce wide mouth is attached to my hip! I think the measurements on the side challenge me to drink more during the day. If I see the water line hasn’t dropped a lot in an hour or two, I take a big swig.
