The Gigantic PBF Gift Guide

December 13, 2012 by Julie 88 Comments

I think I had a little too much fun assembling this gift guide!

This PBF Gift Guide includes pictures and links to some of my favorite fitness and fashion products as well as some items I’ve been eyeing for some time now. Hopefully something will jump out at you and give you an idea for a special gift for a certain someone in your life!

Nothing is more than $100 and I tried to cover various price points.

Happy holidays!

Fitness Finds:

  • BIC Bands

BIC Bands

The perfect stocking stuffer! These workout headbands are super cute and actually stay in place. I love the sparkly and holiday-themed headbands!

  • Reebok CrossFit Warm Up 1/4 Zip

Reebok CrossFit Jacket

I own this jacket in gray and red and it is one of my all-time favorite fitness apparel items. It’s stretchy, warm and form-fitting without clinging to the body in an unflattering way.

  • T-Shirt Quilt Made of Old Race T-Shirts

tshirt quilt

  • iPhone Arm Band

iphone 5 arm band pink

  • lululemon Scoop Neck Tank

lululemon scoop neck tanktop

A classic for a reason. Flattering, feminine and just plain pretty. I adore this bright red color!

  • Reebok CrossFit Compression Tight

Reebok CrossFit Tight

I wore these during a long biking tour in Connecticut and they stayed up and kept my legs nice and toasty! The material hides lumps and bumps better than other compression tights I’ve tried in the past and they are much more flattering!

Fashion Finds:

  • Delicate Sideways Cross Necklace

sideways cross necklace

I saw something similar in one of the outdoor shops in Bryant Park in NYC last weekend and fell in love. So delicate and pretty!

  • Urban Outfitters Eternity Scarf

Eternity Scarf Urban Outfitters

My friend Leah wore this scarf in NYC and I instantly fell in love with it! So cozy and I adore the coral color.

  • Semi Precious Stone Bracelet

Semi Precious Stone Bracelet

A cute bracelet to wear on its own or stacked with a gold watch and gold bangles.

  • This Girl Loves Christmas T-Shirt

This Girl Loves Christmas

So cheesy and so great. I may have purchased this shirt for myself earlier this week. And bought the guy version for Ryan, too. We’re so cool.

Beauty Finds:

  • Smashbox Photo Finish Oil Free Primer

SmashBox Photo Finish Primer

I started using primer about a year ago and I cannot believe I went so long without adding it to my makeup arsenal. This Smashbox primer goes on light and makes my makeup last 10,000 times longer. It’s amazing! It’s also pretty expensive, but I’ve had the same bottle for more than a year and I’m not even halfway through it.

  • Vera Bradley Hanging Organizer

Vera Bradley Hanging Organizer

Perfect for traveling! I pack my hanging organizer with travel-size shampoo and conditioner, lotion, hair ties, workout headbands and more.

  • Red LipstickLOreal-Paris-Infallible-Le-Rouge

Two price points: YSL Rouge (expensive), L’Oreal Infallible (cheaper, but still wonderful and long-lasting). I also love Revlon lip butter in cherry tart. It’s subdued enough for daytime but still adds a fun pop of color.

  • Jane Marvel Cosmetic Bag

Jane Marvel Makeup Cosmetics Case

I bought two Jane Marvel cosmetics bags on super-sale through RueLaLa and love them! I keep a small one filled with lip gloss, mascara and concealer so I can easily throw my makeup into my purse. I think the glitter look of this bag is awfully snazzy!

More Fun Gift Ideas:

  • Personalized Stationary

personalized stationary

  • Anthropologie Monogram Mug

  • Fun Holiday Socks or Slippers

women's holiday socks

These socks are only $5 at Target! I have a Halloween-themed pair and they’re comfortable and cozy without making your feet sweat!

  • Books!

happiness project

  • Monogramed Phone Case

iphone5 003

Note: If you happen to be affiliated with a small company that makes gifts that give back in some way, please leave a comment with more information on this post! I’m hoping to do a gift guide highlighting gifts that give back, too!

    Hi Julie!

Thanks for your gift guide- I love the stylish and yet practical work out wear (with prices actually in my budget). I write for an online magazine that is all about highlighting brands and companies that give back- we call it living inspired. We just put out a holiday gift guide for men (http://www.lifestyleandcharity.com/2012/12/men-holiday2012/) and women (http://www.lifestyleandcharity.com/2012/12/women-holiday2012/) that gives back 🙂

I would highly recommend any of Emily Giffin’s novels for a best friend or sister. I’ve read all of them and by the end of each one you get that devastating feeling where you don’t want the story to end because you fall in love with her characters.

This came in SOO handy. I ordered a “J” mug with scrabble style letters (and the points in the corner) for my Grandma but just found out it was backordered 🙁 Anthropologie to the rescue!!!! Just ordered her the “J” mug…she will love it. Thanks!

I use my monogrammed mug from Anthro every week. I love it.

If people are looking to give a gift that is fun, but could ultimately change someone’s life they could check out the Soccket. It is a soccer ball that generates electricity. I spent some time working in Africa and a gift like this would make such a difference in a family’s life in a country like that. 🙂

I work for an organization called Food for the Hungry (FH). Each year, the organization produces a gift catalog that allows people in the developed world to give a much needed gift (i.e. de-worming medicine, a goat, chickens, etc.) to a person in need in one of the 26 countries we work in across the globe. The gift catalog can be viewed at: https://fh.org/give/catalog. Check it out!

This is my soon to be brother-in-laws company! It’s an amazing company where with each item they sell, it funds 1 pound of trash to be removed from our ocean’s waterways. They were just featured on The Today Show’s “gifts that give back” segment over Thanksgiving break too! They have items for men, women, and kids, and a ton of really cool gear like backpacks, purses, and even ipad covers! Definitely check them out 🙂

As a college senior about to graduate next week, I have tons of sorority t-shirts and other clothing I was going to pass down…but I think a blanket might be a better idea! I had no idea these were available on Etsy, thanks for the heads up. I’m definitely going to look into having one of these made. I also have a ton of fitness instructor shirts to get rid of, but I think they might create the world’s smelliest blanket, haha!

My birthday is on Christmas day and I love that t-shirt! Not to be a copy cat, but I love it!! I wish they made it in other colors too 🙂 Quite a few items on the list I like – the makeup primer, organizer traveler, and of course the workout gear 🙂

I love your gift guide! perfect to send to my husband for ideas that are reasonably priced!
I volunteer for a non-profit organization that educates and trains women in India who are survivors of human trafficking. iSanctuary has an office in CA and also helps survivors of human trafficking in the US. The jewelry is all hand made and signed by the women who made it. The price points are fantastic and their slogan is “purchase with purpose.” I have given these as gifts to aunts, neices, sisters, moms, neighbors, teachers….they also have stationary, mens jewelry and jewelry for children. http://www.isanctuary.org

Julie, this is such a great post!

I design jewelry, including some sideways cross pieces 😉 This month, for every piece I sell off my Etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/LivelyHappenings I am creating and donating a piece of jewelry to Strings for Hope.

Strings for Hope is a non-profit based in the one and only Music City, Nashville, TN. Designers, such as myself, create one of a kind pieces out of guitar strings. These designs range from Christmas Ornaments, Pendants, Earrings to bracelets. All proceeds go to feeding the hungry! Now how great is that!?

To learn more about my work with this great organization, check out my post: http://livelyhappenings.blogspot.com/2012/12/shop-for-cause.html

Don’t forget to shop the Etsy Site Lively Happenings to get great jewelry for yourself and have a piece donated in your honor to Strings for Hope!

This guy gives a portion of sales to the Greater Boston Food Bank! And it’s getting written up all over the place (http://slice.seriouseats.com/archives/2012/09/the-pizza-lab-the-baking-steel-delivers.html) for great things.

Winning twice over. Way to be.

Kauzbots are perfect gifts for kids! There are 10 different handcrafted, colorful and lovable Kauzbots robots, each created to inspire kids and adults to change the world. 10% of the retail price of robot plush toys is donated to the kauz (aka cause) close to the robot’s heart.http://www.kauzbots.com/. I work for a nonprofit that provides vital services to those living in povery – we’re proud to have Karissa the Kauzbot on our team! Kauzbots are not only totally cool and fun, but they are great way to teach kids about important causes. http://www.kauzbots.com/pages/change-world-hunger-poverty-with-toy.
