If You Could Judge a Reality Show

June 12, 2013 by Julie 76 Comments

Good afternoon!

I hope your day is going well so far.

This morning, after I published my morning blog post, I drove to the gym for a quick workout. I took my favorite boot camp class at the gym before I had to attend a quick meeting.

During the meeting one of the women I was talking to brought cupcakes in for everyone to enjoy. She said she was inspired to make them after watching an episode of Cupcake Wars on her DVR the other night. We started talking about how sweet it would be to be a judge on that show. Wouldn’t that be an awesome gig?

We then talked about what shows we’d love to judge if we were able to guest judge any reality competition show currently on the air.

My top selections?

  • So You Think You Can Dance

So You Think You Can Dance

Oh how I wish I could dance. I wouldn’t be able to offer any technical critiques, making me a worthless judge, but I would gladly sit at the judge’s table and gush over the incredible athleticism of the dancers.

  • Chopped

Chopped--Episode 905--Four Champion Chefs Compete for a $50,000 prize--Pictured L to R: Judges- Chefs Marc Murphy, Alex Guarnaschelii, Aaron Sanchez, and Host Ted Allen -- as Seen on Food Network's Chopped Season 9

Even though the chefs competing on this show often have to cook with some pretty obscure ingredients, the dishes they end up creating almost always look fabulous! I’d also love to guest judge Top Chef, but I haven’t watched that show in quite a while, so Chopped won out!

Lunch

Once the meeting and reality show conversations were over, I drove home and prepared lunch.

quesadilla

I made myself a quesadilla with leftover chicken from last night’s dinner, cheese and corn and served it with roasted broccoli.

chicken corn quesadilla

Fabulous!

Now it’s time for me to hop in the shower and head back out for my shift at the gym!

Question of the Afternoon

  • If you could guest judge any reality competition show, what show would you want to judge?

I’m with you on SYTYCD! By far my favorite reality. I danced for about 10 years and wish I had never quit so I could possibly get a shot at that show! Love it!

This is a tough one! I would probably say: Iron Chef. Think of all the crazy food you could try! You’d never know what you’re going to try, but you know it’s going to be good (since they are presumably “iron” chefs).

I’d have to say a cooking show for sure! Right now, I’m really loving the Great American Baking Competition on CBS. So I’d like to be a judge for that and try baked goods. Yum! I’d also like to be the judge on a singing competition like American Idol.

I definitely think I’d want to judge Cupcake Wars, and maybe something like HGTV star…I do it from home anyway! 😉

Top Chef, hands down. I don’t know how those judges do it though, them with their “portion control.” They literally take like 2 bites and put their fork down. I’d be the girl scraping my plate

Even though I hate singing shows – I would love to be a judge on “The Voice” or “America’s Got Talent”. I like that “The Voice” focuses solely on singing ability and not judged on how attractive they are. Plus who wouldn’t want to sit next to Blake Shelton/Adam Levine or Usher?! “America’s Got Talent” has some crazy good talent – like the guy who could draw a story through sand on a projector. Interesting question 🙂

I don’t watch a lot of reality TV, but my one guilty pleasure is Four Weddings on TLC. I would want to be a judge on that show, because you are also a contestant! Being a contestant/judge means you have a 1 in 4 chance on getting an awesome honeymoon- score!!

I would want to be a judge for Iron Chef America! I’m no food connoisseur, but to try all the creative dishes would be awesome! And being a judge for SYTYCD would be amazing also! I’m a dancer so I would get so much inspiration!

My wife and i got now satisfied Jordan could finish off his web research through the entire ideas he gained out of the web page. It’s not at all simplistic to simply happen to be offering information that men and women have been selling. So we consider we have got you to thank for this. Those illustrations you have made, the easy website menu, the relationships your site make it easier to instill – it is mostly powerful, and it’s aiding our son in addition to our family imagine that the issue is brilliant, which is seriously indispensable. Many thanks for everything!

So you think you can dance would probably be my first choice!
I’ve never thought to put corn in my quesadilla, that looks so delicious! Esepcially since I’ve had some deep cravings for quesadilla lately, that just seals the deal on what’s for dinner tonight 😉 haha
