This Just In

November 3, 2010 by Julie 38 Comments

This just in:

There are a lot of places in the world.

There are also a lot of amazing resorts, cabins, bungalows and vacations homes to visit.

It took us months to plan our trip to St. Lucia and now we’re trying to cram our backup honeymoon planning into two days. Stressful? Just a bit. Exciting? You betcha!

Your comments on my morning post left me on a wild goose chase. I feel like I’ve been around the world via the internet! 😀 Thank you for all of your suggestions. We now have some front-runners thanks to you guys!

It’s kind of cool not knowing where I’ll be in a couple of days. Plus, I’ll be with my foxy new husband which will make any place we choose a blast!

Speaking of having a blast… here are a couple of wedding day photos that my friend Steve took.

The Big Walk

Family Huddle at the End of the Night on the Dance Floor

Dad & Daughter

I love the look on my dad’s face in the above picture and just had to share this photo with you guys. You can tell my dad is about to break down. It was an emotional and amazing day! 😀 I wish I could re-live it.

Lunch

Lunch today featured an old classic.

Noodle Bowl!

The noodle bowl!

Noodles + Sauce + Veggies

In the mix today:

  • Carba Nada egg fettuccine noodles
  • Steamed spinach
  • Broccoli slaw
  • Marinara meat sauce

Wednesday Lunch

Carba Nada pasta is the jam. With 12 grams of protein per serving, it has serious staying power.

Back to work!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Seriously…you looked SO beautiful on your wedding day! 🙂 Your whole family looks amazing and just so, so happy for you and Ryan. I’m sure you are totally overwhelmed with all of the honeymoon planning, but I hope you can enjoy your first week of being newlyweds at the same time! Good luck making other arrangements! 🙂

How exciting! I know it’s not the honeymoon you had planned, but what a fantastic story yall now have and a wonderful adventure to start off your lives together 🙂

In Asheville, check out The Grove Park Inn & Spa. It’s amazing. And you could go hiking, exploring, and loads of other fun stuff.

Can’t wait to hear what you decide to do!

Julie! You looked gorgeous. I just got married July 30th and put together a honeymoon on the fly. We did a ton of debating. When the whole world is up for grabs, it’s so difficult to settle on one place!!! We went to Jamaica. Are you leaning towards anywhere more than others? You can’t not enjoy your honeymoon! It won’t matter where you choose. Good luck!!

You looked beautiful at your wedding! I think it’s exciting not knowing where you are going to be in 2 days for your honeymoon! It makes it like an adventure! The best part is that you are going to remember this forever and that you are spending your honeymoon with your husband 🙂

Do you use travel zoo?? I just got the top 20 deals email and they have awesome last minute deals (especially package ones, which is super nice, and what my husband and I used on our honeymoon). I saw a Paris getaway!! Good luck!

    Julie,

HAPPY MARRIED LIFE! You looked gorgeous on your wedding day! So glad you were able to enjoy yourself and that the pink eye and food poisoning did not get in the way. I hope your super fabulous 48 hour honeymoon planning is going great! Being from Florence, SC (only 1.5 hours from Charleston) I say give Charleston a whirl. It has great old houses, the ocean, beautiful scenery, places to tour, shopping, privacy, yummy food, spa’s,and lots of opportunities to spend some great time with your new hubby! Quaint places like Georgetown and Murrels Inlet are about an hour away and then there is Isle of Palms and Savannah close by too! Wherever you go just soak up every minute with you dream guy, your hubby!!

So I don’t know how this slipped my mind, but my Brother works at a resort on Hilton Head Island! They aren’t super busy this time of year, if you are at all interested, let me know and I would HAPPY to help! It’s amazing there, and it’s tourist season, lots of yummy places to eat, and amazing places to see 🙂

Don’t hesitate, even if you want to stop on your way back after Charleston 🙂 It’s pretty close!!

I got married October 3rd last year (the day you got engaged!) and for our honeymoon we didn’t “plan” anything except the roundabout idea that we wanted to go to Colorado. Road trip!
We were literally chaste until we got married so it was the first time we were alone, ever, and even though it was unnerving to be alone now (we kept saying “we’re alone now!”) it was also so much fun.
It truly felt like it was our personal journey that we were sharing only with each other and we went wherever the wind took us, wherever we wanted and had a blast.
So yea, the honeymoon is totally about you, your guy and your awesome journey!

A story: when Keith and I got married I REALLY wanted a destination wedding. I wanted to elope in Hawaii and not mess with the big wedding drama. However, Keith was the last in his family to get married and every single one of his siblings (he is one of five) had eloped and his parents had never been to a wedding of their children. It was important to him to have a wedding. I am so glad I did beause it was a fabulous day. However…we are going to re-live our day because this April will be our 5 year wedding anniversary and wouldn’t you know…we are going to renew our vows in Hawaii! 🙂

    Julie,

Right now on Beyondtherack.com there’s discount week trips to a couple different places such as Paris & the Bahamas. (You save around $600). Pretty neat & there’s 17 more hours left to order it, which falls in between the 48 your working with 🙂
