Snickerdoodle Cake Mix Cookies

December 11, 2011 by Julie 39 Comments

If you are craving some cookies, especially snickerdoodle, these cookies are so good! Cake mix makes a great base for some pretty amazing cookies. These cake mix snickerdoodle cookies are one of those recipes you need to try.

Today is what Sundays are all about!

  • Church
  • Cleaning
  • Eating
  • Baking
  • Relaxation

Ryan and I went to the early church service this morning and on our way home, we stopped by the grocery store to grab some food for the week.

Ryan also wanted to grill out today, so we nabbed some hotdogs that he grilled when we got home for lunch.

I ate mine alongside some grape tomatoes and a clementine.

We then spent a good hour doing dishes, wiping down counters, vacuuming… all the usual pain-in-the-butt household chores that we neglect throughout the week.

When Ryan settled down to watch some football, I decided to do some baking!

I made a batch of snickerdoodle cookies (craving sparked by last night’s ice cream) and followed a recipe I found online that used cake mix as the base for the cookies.

Since we’re a huge fan of funfetti cake mix cookies around here, I figured snickerdoodle cake mix cookies would be right up our alley.

Oh my gosh they were so good!

Ryan and I both ate our bodyweight in cookies. Even Sadie was a fan and she usually only likes meat or cheese-based people food.

And speaking of Sadie and snickerdoodles, she’s pretty hopped up on sugar at the moment and we’re debating whether to take her on a nice walk or play frisbee in the backyard to work out some of her excess energy. Our laidback Sunday continues!

Cake mix cookies have been my go-to recipes for years! So convenient and easy. A few years back I got a couple of recipe books completely devoted to cake-mix recipes – cookies, squares, bars, etc. Very handy to have when I’m called upon to bake something at the last minute!

I love using those cookies and either toasting them/broiling until a little crispy, and mixing them into Greek yogurt, low fat ice cream, and topping with sugar free pudding! so good! adding sprinkles as great. Made them with funfetti and nearly died from deliciousness. Funfetti pudding cookies are the best! Try toasting them and adding them to ice cream/yogurt milk etc. tastes like brownie/cake sundae!

I am such a cake mix recipe junkie. So far my fav has been just adding pumpkin to spice cake–which I know you used to make cookies even! I like it with some chocolate chips as a cake, though, topped with buttercream or something like that and skor bits. My mouth is watering…

I’d been afraid to try using cake mix with cookies, but I’ve definitely made it with pumpkin loaves. It looks like it’s a winning combo, so it looks like it’s time to try.

Mmm, your snickerdoodles look perfect! Whenever I make them, they come out of the oven flat. Still delicious, but I’m thinking cake mix might be the best way to fix this problem.

I hope you were successful in helping Sadie burn all that sugar energy!

They look delicious, but Julie, dogs should not get sugar at all. They easily get diabetes, and they’re not built to process carbs (alhough they can process sugar). It’s just not good for them.:(

I wanted to try out this recipe but it calls for a 18.25 oz cake mix.. I see you used a 15.75 oz cake mix; may I know what alterations (if any) did you do to the recipe?? Thanks Julie 🙂
