Lithia Park and Déjà Vu Bistro

October 12, 2012 by Julie 26 Comments

Yesterday afternoon, after spending the day at the Harry & David orchards and chocolate factory, our little group of bloggers had some free time in Ashland to grab lunch at the fantastic Peerless restaurant and explore.

We had the chance to walk through Lithia Park after lunch which was a highlight for me.

The park looked like it was straight out of a movie, with colorful leaves, ducks and a picture-perfect pond.

I also had the opportunity to try Lithia water!

And when I say I “had the opportunity to try” I mean I was duped into trying Lithia water. Smile

It looked so refreshing, but I’m pretty sure it’s something you only need to try once. It tasted like carbonated salt water! Not so tasty.

Dinner at Dèjá Vu Bistro

Later that evening, our blogger group joined some folks from Harry & David for dinner in Jacksonville at the Dèjá Vu Bistro & Wine Bar.

We could not stop raving about the food and the wine. Everything, from the roasted beet salad to the duck and the pear sorbet, was fabulous.

I think we all felt like we needed to be rolled back to our bed and breakfast by the end of the evening. If there’s one thing we’ve been doing a lot of on this trip it’s eating and drinking!

And on that note, I’m off to change and get ready for our last dinner in Oregon!

Happy Friday!

I’m glad you enjoyed the Peerless! I know the owner. Did you get to meet her? Such a great woman! She is a workout fanatic. Puts me to shame.

My house was just a few blocks from there. That area where the restaurant is is known as the Railroad District. That was my favorite place flat place to run.

Laughing that you tried Lithia water! It’s always fun to get someone new to try it. Tastes like rotten eggs. Ick.

My two favorite shops are Patina Soul, Papaya Living and Ashland Outdoor Store (my friend’s husband owns it!). Did you visit any of those?

Just curious (it doesn’t affect my opinion abt you or your trip) but I know you were invited to visit … Did they pay for it?

    Julie,
I hope you had a wonderful trip to Ashland! I’m a local and have been reading your blog for several months now.

I must admit, I try to “entice” friends to try lithia water when they first visit also! The reactions are just too funny not to.

Lithia park is gorgeous in the fall, it’s great that you were able to visit as such a beautiful time!
